“Established in 2019, the vision of the malcolm x shabazz foundation is to promote malcolm xs legacy through educational programs. The main objective of the foundation is to raise funds to enable the malcolm x and betty shabazz center in new york execute its short term and long term goals, by promoting the legacy of malcolm x through educational seminars, workshop and tours, and through a variety of cultural and public events in remembrance of his legacy. In 2021, the foundation held virtual fundraising events to assist the malcolm x and betty shabazz center in several areas: hold a three-day international tribunal on human rights violations hold public events with leaders including dr. Ilyasah shabazz, dr. Cornel west, imam omar suleiman, noor tagouri, maimouna youssef, keyon harrold and othersserved as a comprehensive covid-19 testing and vaccination site for six months moving forward, the goals of the foundations include: assist the center in hiring interim executive director, general operations manager, and social media/communications coordinator complete installation of the malcolm x and dr. Betty shabazz permanent exhibition and multi-media kiosks increase in-person programming by expanding public programming series.”
