“Our mission is to attract nationally known and emerging artists to durango, to engage and educate the community while bolstering economic vitality through the development of new works in an intimate and collaborative forum. We strive to make professional artistic expertise and experience accessible to students, educators and community members in the four courners region and provide a nurturing environment for playwrights to develop their work.”

“Accomplishments for the fiscal year ended september 30, 2023: - planned and executed the 2023 festival, which included an unprecedented three sold-out readings. - featured current, thought-provoking topics such as mental health/suicide, abortion rights, and dementia, which sparked increased audience participation in the post-performance q&as. - hired three student interns to encourage careers in the arts. - hired flc students and alumni for stage managers and assistant stage managers. - in april 2023, started a speaker series for high school and college students where young professional actors and playwrights talk about opportunities and challenges. Goals for the fiscal year ending september 30, 2024: - plan and execute the 2024 festival, featuring diverse voices and topics.add additional readings. - feature free workshops and panel discussions for the community. - hire as many flc students/alumni and community members into positions such as stage manager, assistant stage manager, driver, production assistant, actor and intern. - increase number of corporate sponsors.continue speaker series for high school and college students in march 2024.”
