“Our mission is to provide support & resources for foster, adoptive & kinship families in north alabama (and surrounding areas) who care for vulnerable children for a day, a week, a lifetime.”

“The north alabama foster closet, an arm of fostering connections, llc, is a comuunity-based volunteer run closet on a mission to service adoptive, foster, and kinship families across north alabama by meeting physical needs with new and gently used clothing, shoes, coats, furniture, supplies, and gear. All items are available at no charge for families currently serving the vulnerable children in north alabama. Despite being based in madison county, the north alabama foster closet has found families across north and central alabama, as well as southern tennessee, in need of items necessary for the care of the children placed in their care. Once a request is submitted, the volunteer staff at the closet are generally able to fulfill the request within 1 day. On average, each of our 50 volunteers fulfilled 80 to 100 requests per month. During 2021, nafc fulfilled a total of 981 requests including new placements within an adoptive, foster, or kinship setting.”

“Christmas shoppe-each year we provide brand new toys for children. We do our best to help chidren who have not been served by dhr, churches or other organizations in the area. This year we were able to provide gifts for 97 children across all age groups.”
