The mission of yes2jobs is to advance economic opportunity for minority youth from under-resourced communities by turning access into achievement, and potential into lasting prosperity. Yes2jobs empowers these youth to build generational wealth by connecting them to high-growth careers in entertainment/media, technology, e-sports, and finance. We create pathways from career exposure to employment through industry mentorship, personal branding, and paid internships that prepare young people-ages 16 to 24-to thrive in the future workforce. Our mission is simple - economic opportunity, job readiness, and career mobility for minority youth.
The specific purpose of this corporation is to work in underserved communities that consistently maintain above-average unemployment rates to stimulate economic development and job creation activities by attracting technological and creative arts companies to locate within these communities, and to cultivate a pipeline of diverse talent who have been underrepresented in the technology and creative arts sectors by being a connector between targeted corporations and community organizations.

| Yes2Jobs develops and positions talent from under resourced communities in South Los Angeles for jobs in higher earning career pathways in Los Angeles County focused on technology, media, finance and healthcare services.The current Yes2Jobs is based on a program that was founded in 1987 and lasted for 20 years. That program impacted over 2000 participants, the majority credits their current success in life, whether in entertainment or other careers to their early exposure to internships and employment as high school and college students. 100+ companies hired 2,000+ student interns at the high school and college levels. 1991 saw Y.E.S. To Jobs awarded an NAACP Image Award for opening the doors of the entertainment industry to minority youth. This methodology has a proven track record of success.Yes2Jobs has done its research and discovered that the key problem is that zip codes define economic opportunity & access to higher earning career pathways and that there is a lack of diversity in these key high paying industries. For example, the US technology workforce is 90% White or Asian and 75% Male. Black and Latina/o grads earn 21% of Computer science degrees but represent only 10% of technical computing workforce. 45% of Theatrical tickets sold in the US were bought by minorities. However, for theatrical films, minorities were less than 20% lead roles, 13% are film Directors and 8% are film writers, which indicates a lack of diversity in at the decision making level in film and television. We know that diversity is good for business. A 2015 McKinsey report on 366 public companies found that, those in the top quartile for ethnic and racial diversity in management were 35% more likely to have financial returns above their industry mean.Yes2Jobs provides a solution to increase diversity. We expose and prepare high school and college students for a variety of potential career paths through professional branding and leadership development training. Our students are prepared to discover, develop and present their professional brands for careers; gain knowledge of workplace culture and compete for internships and jobs. Once students have completed internships and gain employment, we pair participants with mentors that can help with career coaching and planning sessions, provide access to other professionals and help build a network for participants to advance their careers. Our ultimate goal is to help participants progress from Intern to the VP.In the middle of the 2020 Pandemic, Yes2Jobs successfully re-launched its internship training programming virtually.Three 10-week Cohorts: 40 participants total with next cohort of 20 slated to begin June21.Senior High School Students, Community College & Four-Year.
