Mission

Far star action fund will target education outreach and advocacy efforts to promote social welfare by developing and advocating for legislation, regulations and government programs to improve the environment, protect natural resources, stimulate the economy, improve education, and preserve democracy. Additionally, far star action fund will conduct research and publicize the positions of elected officials concerning the foregoing issues.

Each covered person shall promptly and fully disclose all material facts of every actual or potential conflict of interest and is required to complete an annual conflict of interest questionnaire. All disclosures shall be made to the president who will disclose the conflicts to the board of directors. The board of directors will evaluate the disclosures to determine whether they involve an actual conflict of interest and may attempt to develop alternatives to remove the conflict from the situation. Any covered person who has an actual conflict or potential conflict of interest shall recuse himself/herself from voting on any transaction or arrangement, and shall not be present when any such vote is taken.”

THE FUND WILL DEVELOP TOOLS TO HELP FILMMAKERS AND ACTIVIST GROUPS USE FILM TO INFORM THE PUBLIC AND INFLUENCE POLICY WITH RESPECT TO A VARIETY OF CIVIC ISSUES, SUCH AS ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION, IMPROVEMENT OF THE EDUCATION SYSTEM, AND WAYS TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT OUR DEMOCRACY. THE FUND WILL TARGET CREATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF ACTION GUIDES, WEB TOOLS, AND MEDIA TEMPLATES AND WILL ENGAGE IN RELATED TRAINING EFFORTS. THE FUND ANTICIPATES PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SPECIFIC FILM PROJECTS, AS WELL AS PROVIDING GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGING IN VOTER REGISTRATION AND EDUCATION EFFORTS. A MINORITY OF THE FUND'S RESOURCES WILL BE USED TO INFLUENCE THE ELECTION, NOMINATION, OR APPOINTMENT OF SPECIFIC CANDIDATES TO FURTHER THE FUND'S ADVOCACY EFFORTS.
