In Traces, Voices of the Second Generation, Holocaust survivors children share their families true stories and explore the complexities of having Holocaust survivors as parents. Traces highlights the unbreakable strength and remarkable resilience of the human spirit. Traces ensures these stories are remembered and understood by all. Throughout 2023 Traces has been on the film festival circuit in the United States, Berlin, Mumbai, Rome and multiple festivals abroad, with over two dozen awards so far, including Best Documentary and Best Director. Traces, Voices of the Second Generation screening inquiries are now available on our website at www.tracesfilm.com. Educational ProgramsIn 2023, Searching For Identity developed Grades 6-12 Traces curriculum, available for educators. The curriculum was piloted in Jacksonville and is now available via our website. Second and Third Generation Holocaust Survivor Workshop ExpansionOur writing workshops expanded services to include a support group, led by a therapist to meet the needs of our participants. In the workshop, Second and Third Gen write about share their parents survivor testimony and document their own survivorship upbringing. Reading these essays can release emotions that are best processed with a licensed therapist. SFI introduced this service in 2023. Public Educational ProgrammingSFI presented our Antisemitism and the Origins of Hate program to packed audiences in Fall 2023. The program is led by Stacey Goldring and University of Florida Price Judaica Library Head Curator, Rebecca Jefferson PhD. Offering a sweeping historical look how antisemitism has manifest throughout the common era, the program also provides a forum to ask questions about history, to better understand how propaganda, publications and the arts can influence dangerous tropes. Multiple examples are given how Jewish populations continue to carry on, despite the challenges throughout the centuries”
