Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

A draft of the 990 return is presented to the audit committee comprised of board members before the return is filed. Once the return is reviewed, a draft of the return will be made available to the entire board prior to the return being filed.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

All disclosure statements are subject to review by the officers for conformity with the policy and procedures.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

The compensation committee is a body appointed by the board who reviews compensation comparables published by independent research studies/surveys for non-profit salaries in the los angeles area. These comparables are used as benchmarks for the compensation committee who assures that proposed compensation is within the comparable range.

The organization is exempt from income taxes under internal revenue code 501(c)(3) and california revenue and taxation code 23701(d). The organization recognizes the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position if it is more-likely-than-not to be sustained on examination by taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position. The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position are measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50% likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. The amount of unrecognized tax benefits is adjusted as appropriate for changes in facts and circumstances, such as significant amendments to existing tax law, new regulations or interpretations by the taxing authorities, new information obtained during a tax examination, or resolution of an examination.
