“In 2022 sun valley opera celebrated its 20th anniversary and a full year of programming, the first since the pandemic. We had three winter concerts, all at the argyros performing arts center. February 10 was our signature salon and concert starring jonah hoskins and his sister, mary hoskins. March 2 was a concert only starring noah stewart and teresa castillo. Our final concert of winterfest22 was our diva party and concert starring broadway star allison blackwell. Although we had scheduled the metropolitan opera's live simulcasts, the movie theater where we show them permanently closed. We struck another deal with the magic lantern theater in ketchum but heavy snows made it impossible to install the required equipment until may. We were able to show the last two performances, lucia di lammermoor and hamlet. We continued our 20th anniversary on june 21 with "a glamorous garden gala" starring world-renowned mezzo-soprano tamara mumford. We continued to show "films on the lawn" first wit "high society- and then "little shop of horrors". For the first time we held a concert and dance party starring allison semmes and jared wayne gladly followed by a d.j. On july 14. We concluded out anniversary year with our signature salon and concert starring the amazing soprano audrey luna in an incredible garden. Also in 2022 we fulfilled our third of a 4 year scholarship award to a student who is studying vocal arts at the university of puget sound. Each year we give the university 2,500 per semester toward her tuition. Approximately 700 residents and visitors benefitted from sun valley opera's variety of programs during the 2022 calendar year.”
