IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0COMMUNITY DRIVEN COLLEGE AND HIGHSCHOOLThe model establishes satellite or blended learning sites as extensions of high schools thereby ensuring that college is accessible, negotiating reduced college tuition costs to just above what low income students can leverage in financial aid grants ensuring college is affordable, and graduating 75-80% of entering students through the delivery of a small cohort boutique model ensuring the college is accountable. Our model reaches out to over 50 low income students per year that are expected to graduate in 2.5 to 3 years with 62 credits and with a retention rate of 91%, with 2 high school partners, and 3 college partners. In addition, the organization operates a 21st Century After School Program using a unique blended learning model where students create their own self-paced learning pathways and the school curriculum is complemented and enhanced with literacy applied through creative writing, poetry, and dance. The program seeks to decrease absenteeism and increase academic outcomes by engaging and wrapping with academic and social supports to those students most at-risk for poor outcomes.
