Mission

Education-plus, inc. Was formed in idaho in 1982 for educational and charitable purposes, to operate nonprofit supplemental testing, assessment, and tutoring for students with learning differences. In 2009, education plus expanded its reach to pennsylvania, to address the intersection of limited access to quality health care and education. Today education-plus, inc. In pa serves more than 7,000 individuals to improve education and health outcomes, through school based health centers, afterschool programming and post-secondary access through partnership with philadelphia communities and harcum college.

Education-Plus, Inc. d/b/a Education and Health Innovations in Pennsylvania is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that improves education and health outcomes and disseminates innovations and best practices by supporting children and families in providing educational services such as academic benchmarking, general and special education, accelerated education opportunities and access to high-quality health care and health education to students in their schools. Education-Plus, Inc. engages in scaling and replication of high impact models, consulting and technical assistance to other organizations, and the promotion of promising practices within education and health through the dissemination of articles and publications in educational journals. All board members are given the conflict of interest policy upon joining the board to review. Board members are required to notify the organization of any conflicts that arise and are not allowed to vote or participate in board matters in which they have a conflict.

Education-Plus, Inc.'s top management officials are accountable for ensuring that the organization's mission is carried out at the highest levels of quality, service, and stewardship within the communities Education-Plus, Inc. serves. The Board of Directors determines executive compensation. The CEO's salary was determined based on an independent analysis to help ensure that Education-Plus, Inc.'s compensation levels are reasonable to attract and retain the highest caliber of professionals needed to carry out its mission. Education-Plus, Inc. benchmarks itself against organizations of comparable mission across the region and the nation that are creating and scaling complex education and social sector programs and services. Market data are assembled for all elements of executive compensation (salary, benefits, and perquisites). Furthermore, the compensation levels reflect the scope of each top manager's responsibilities, educational background, experience, and industry standing, as well as individual and organization performance. Also, the top management officials' compensation cannot exceed amounts allowed by grants and contracts. Finally, it is the obligation of a compensation committee to assess the performance of Education-Plus, Inc.'s CEO, determine his/her compensation, and report its finding in this regard to the Board. The committee is also responsible for reviewing and approving the performance assessments and compensation recommendations for the top management positions.

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

The Organization follows the accounting requirements for uncertain tax positions, Financial Accounting Standards Board Accounting Standards Codification (FASB ASC) 740, Income Taxes. Under FASB ASC 740, an entity must recognize the tax benefit associated with tax positions taken for tax return purposes when it is more likely than not that the position will be sustained. Management does not believe there are any material uncertain tax positions and, accordingly, it did not recognize any liability for unrecognized tax benefits. The Organizations federal information returns for 2011 and forward are subject to examination, generally for three years after filing.

The Board of Directors determines executive compensation. The CEO's salary was determined based on an independent analysis to help ensure that Education-Plus, Inc.'s compensation levels are reasonable to attract and retain the highest caliber of professionals needed to carry out its mission. Education-Plus, Inc. benchmarks itself against organizations of comparable mission across the region and the nation that are creating and scaling complex education and social sector programs and services. Market data are assembled for all elements of executive compensation (salary, benefits, and perquisites). Furthermore, the compensation levels reflect the scope of each top manager's responsibilities, educational background, experience, and industry standing, as well as individual and organization performance. Also, the top management officials' compensation cannot exceed amounts allowed by grants and contracts. Finally, it is the obligation of a compensation committee to assess the performance of Education-Plus, Inc.'s CEO, determine his/her compensation, and report its finding in this regard to the Board. The committee is also responsible for reviewing and approving the performance assessments and compensation recommendations for the top management positions.
