Other programs - these include the gold mine (a thrift store that provided 35.77% of our operating expenses in 2012), administration, development, and building and maintenance.

Activity 3

Regional history department, cultural programming, it services - our regional history archive assisted scholars and visitors as they researched and studied the history of sun valley in particular and the wood river valley in general (and a bit farther afield). Materials available to the public include approximately 20,300 historical photos, 500 oral histories, and 29,600 other items (scrapbooks, ephemera items, manuscripts, books, and related material). We maintain an ernest hemingway study center with books, audio/visual materials, photographs, oral histories, extensive clippings, and some ephemera items. We offer over 52 cultural programs a year with presentations by authors, artists, ambassadors, film makers, historians, journalists, scholars, photographers and others. Our it services support all the services and programs in the library. Patrons have access 309 days a year, 53 hours a week, to 25 public computers (six of them in the children's library) for free.
