To provide financial, creative and technical support to organizations comitted to hacking, experimentation, and deep knowledge in the scientific, technical, engineering, and mathematics (stem) fields.

Hacker initiative is created to support and grow the collective knowledge and contributions of the worldwide hacker community.

Part vi, section b,line 13: hacker initiative's whistle blower policy is compliant with federal and state guidance and policies and provides anyone to contact either hacker initiative anonymously, the attorney general of california or any regulatory or administrative body. Part vi, section b, information line 15: record retention and destruction policy. All records pursuant to hacker initiative's policy is retained for 10 years and thereafter destroyed by shredding and only upon board notice and resolution. All records include board and committee minutes and as to the programming and mentorship committees, working documents for grant applicant review, discussion and recommendations.

Organization's process to review form 990. All members of the board of directors are provided a complete copy of from 990 and schedules, including schedule a and schedule o prior to filing. The from 990 and schedules are circulated to all members of the board of directors via email for review, discussion, and approval. The board of directors meets monthly and discusses substantive issues, expressly hacker initiative's finances, significant transactions, commitment of funds, and fundraising. A quorum just be met pursuant to hacker initiative's bylaws for each board meeting and the from 990, schedules, and attachments are approved either at the regular board meetings or special board meetings, if further discussion is required, or if amendments need to be made. Amendments are reviewed by the board of directors prior to approval by written unanimous consent.

Hacker initiative, through reviews by the programming committee, awarded grants of 15,067 to 5 grant recipients, of which 7,750 was funded to 3 2022 grant recipients, and another 7,317 was funded as balances of 2021 approved grants . The 2022 projects: openquantum - building a rubidium (radioactive) magneto optical trap ("mot") to trap neutral atoms. Iot-to show vulnerabilities in consumer security devices and to improve security for common consumer devices. Machine learning data sets for trash cans to improve recycling. The programming committee is comprised of all volunteers from the hacker community, the broader community, and some of the board members of hacker initiative. The chair of hacker initiative attends programming committee meetings as an observer and casts no votes or decisions as to whom grant awards are directed to. These recipients included groups, entities, companies (non profits) and individuals who used their funds for projects which directly supported hackers initiative's mission. BOARD MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE ON MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS TO ADMINISTER THE CHARITABLE PURPOSE OF THE NON PROFIT. C. COMMITTEES. THERE ARE 2 COMMITTEES WHICH PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THE NON PROFIT. 1. PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE. THE VOLUNTEERS ARE WELL KNOWN PROFESSIONALS IN THE CYBER AND SOFTWARE ENGINEERING COMMUNITIES. THEIR ROLE IS TO MARKET THE NON PROFIT, SOLICIT GRANTS AND TO REVIEW GRANT APPLICATIONS TO RECOMMEND TO THE BOARD FOR APPROVAL. 2. MENTORSHIP COMMITTEE. THE VOLUNTEERS ARE WELL KNOWN PROFESSIONALS IN THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE INTEREST AND EXPERIENCE IN MENTORING TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS. THEIR ROLE IS TO ASSIST THE GRANT RECIPIENTS TO COMPLY WITH HACKER INITIATIVES TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THEIR GRANTS INCLUDING DETERMINING WHAT IMPACT THEIR PROJECT ACHIEVED, WHICH COMMUNITY THIS IMPACT AFFECTED AND WHAT TECHNOLOGY WAS USED. D. ADMINISTRATION. 1. THE NON PROFIT BOARD MEETS MONTHLY FOR NO LESS THAN 1 HOUR. A RECORD OF ALL MINUTES AND RECORDED MEETINGS ARE ON FILE FOR PUBLIC REVIEW. 2. COMMITTEES: PROGRAMMING AND MENTORSHIP MEETS REGULARLY AND MEETING MINUTES ARE ON FILE FOR PUBLIC REVIEW. E. SOLICITATION OF FUNDS. ACTIVE PROGRAMS. 1. THE NON PROFITS BOARD, ADVISORY BOARD, COMMITTEE MEMBERS ALL ACTIVELY SOLICIT FUNDS DIRECTLY AND INDIRECTLY BY USE OF THEIR REPUTATION AND NAME. 2. THE NON PROFIT HAS ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN THE WELL KNOWN CONFERENCE DEFCON STAFFING A VENDOR TABLE WITH VOLUNTEERS TO SOLICIT FUNDS. 3. THE NON PROFITS WEBSITE IS ACTIVELY SOLICITING FUNDS: DEMONSTRATING PROJECTS GRANTS. 4. THE NON PROFIT HAS BEEN DEVELOPING A MICRO PROJECT PORTAL SIMILAR TO AMERICAS GOT TALENT WHEREBY COMMUNITY CAN VOTE (USING MICRO FUNDS DONATED) TO THEIR FAVORITE PROJECT. THE ENGINEER DEVELOPING THIS PORTAL IS A VOLUNTEER AND BOARD MEMBER. THIS PLATFORM IS IN ALPHA AFTER ONLY 1 YEAR OF DEVELOPMENT. OUR GOAL IS TO BRING THIS MICRO FUNDING PLATFORM ON LINE IN 2024. F. HIGHLIGHTED PROJECTS. CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER. DEMONSTRATING IMPROVEMENT OF PROGRAMMING AND MENTORING SERVICES BY THE NON PROFIT. 1. YEAR 2018 SPONSORED HACKATHONS. THE BOARD DETERMINED THEREAFTER TO FOCUS ON WHICH PROJECTS WOULD PROVIDE IMPACT, WHAT IMPACT AND FOR WHOM. 2. YEAR 2019 I. ROBOTICS FOR A PUBLIC PRE SCHOOL PROGRAM. IN ADDITION, THE PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE TAKES OFFICIAL MINUTES AND THIS COMMITTEE REPORTS MONTHLY TO THE BOARD ON THEIR ACTIVITIES INCLUDING THE SELECTION PROCESS, CRITERION AND FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS OF GRANT RECIPIENTS.
