“Summer program : community passageways believes that the best way to eliminate the achievement gap is to reach the leadersto transform and connect the youth who carry the greatest influence over their peers. The summer learning program improves reading, writing, and advocacy skills through a transformational,intensely relevant curriculum exploring topics including identity, racism, and criminal justice. By the end of this experience, students will have the knowledge, motivation, and skills to thrive during the upcoming school year.”

“Intensive mentoring community passageways mentors are called community ambassadors. They meet with face-to-face regularly with youth to provide guidance, introduce them to prosocial peers, obtain employment and plan for school success, and provide opportunities for speaking events/civic engagements.”

“Other programs that community passageways provide include: 1) cp-fit (community passageways - family integrated transitions) - cp-fit is an intensive home and community-based intervention that empowers families and youth with skills and resources that will allow them to independently address family, peer, school and neighborhood problems. Cp- fit community-based credible messengers incorporate components of family integrated transitions (fit) in their case management and mentorship services in a way that meet the cultural values, needs and priorities of the youth and families served by community passageways. 2) services community ambassadors also make sure youth's basic needs are met and help them access services such as food, housing and transportation. 3) life skills workshops led by community ambassadors, community members, or professionals will occur twice a month in the community: o job readiness o housing o school 101 o job preparedness o how to use your community ambassador and court support o unlimited low income orca o creating plans and goals o personal money management o public speaking 4) opportunities for civic engagement community passageways ambassadors and youth regularly participate in community, city and king county meetings and are sought after as presenters for panels and workshops. Youth participate in these meetings and tell their story to government officials and decision-makers to help them better understand the circumstances young people face in life as well as share with other youth the mistakes they've made to help them avoid making the same.”
