“Fast blackfeet officially launched a 15 million dollar capital campaign in march of 2024. The comprehensive capital campaign budget includes 5m for 3 years of general operating funds and 1om brick & mortar costs of a new community food resource building. At the end of the 2024 year we successfully fundraised over 3.5m. In the 2024 year we also contracted a capital campaign consultant, the numad group. This was a significant cost of 75,000 for the year. This consultant group helps with the guidance, advice, and research needed for a large capital campaign. We continued the contract for 2025 and 2026 as well.”

“The organization holds an annual board retreat in october each year. A session is provided for the board review of the policy and completion of the forms. If some choose to complete their form outside the meeting, the board chair reviews the folder after the retreat to see which forms are in and contacts those still needing completion. The goal is to get it done by the end of the fiscal year.”

“Fast (food access and sustainability team) blackfeet is a nonprofit organization founded by a group of involved citizens who are dedicated to improving food security, providing nutrition education, and reclaiming & building food sovereignty within the blackfeet nation. We recognize that this work is complex, addresses issues that touch on all aspects of our lives, and is a long-term endeavor. Because of this, we welcome collaboration with any organization or individual working to address food sovereignty in our community, county, or state. Our vision is a healthy, strong, and food secure blackfeet nation. The three main pillars of fast blackfeet are: improving food security, providing nutrition education, and food sovereignty creating a food secure and sovereign system.”

“O'yo'p' food pantry: 291 volunteers contributed 2,897.5 hours of work. Served 11,600 families (9,300 children, 9,500 adults, 2,300 elders). Distributed 445,000 lbs of healthy, culturally relevant foods including 164,000 lbs of food rescue and 53,000 lbs of fresh local produce. Established 3 mini-pantries in outlying communities, serving approximately 200 families. The nutrition education team released two recipe books featuring seasonal and traditional foods. Fast blackfeet made a wide-reaching impact in 2024, feeding thousands, expanding nutrition and garden education, strengthening local food systems, and deepening cultural food sovereignty.”
