“On june 1st 2023, there was an electrical fire in the bathroom. The fire spread through the vent system into the kitchen ceiling and apartment. The smoke from the fire made our pantry and office space unsafe to work. Most staff had to work remotely temporarily and the pantry staff had to conduct food distribution from the backyard. We had some generous funders who were able to send us some emergency funds for the unexpected costs caused by the fire. The damage was not fully repaired until december 2023.”
