| DISCOVER (60% of Program Expenses): Discover is ELIs introductory program designed to help emerging leaders discover God's design and purpose for their lives. The reach and depth of Discover has continued to expand, it is primarily executed and sustained by one full-time employee, the Community Director, along with support from the Executive Director and the collaborative and substantial support of a wider ecosystem of volunteers and the Board of Directors. The Community Director is responsible for leading, developing, coordinating, and evaluating all aspects of program recruitment and delivery, including: facilitator training and support, mentee training and support, and the areas of technology, communication, and overall program stewardship. For the first time ever this past year, ELI served two different cohorts (fall and spring) and 58 emerging leaders through Discover. To drive maximum program impact within a scalable model, the Community Director coordinated, created, and managed ELIs a tailored deployment of technology including: of Google Office Suite, online content platforms, including Squarespace and Slack, and the video platform, Zoom. Each Discover Group facilitator had a Zoom (or other video conferencing service) and Slack account which allowed discover groups to connect consistently, regardless of location. Our virtual model is critical to enabling ELI to not only serve beyond Chicago, but it was also what allowed us to continue to serve in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This past year, we served emerging leaders in six different states, including: Delaware, Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, Texas, Colorado, and California. | $0 | $62,431 |
| COMMUNITY (30% of Program Expenses): After successfully piloting two Mastermind groups in our prior fiscal year, ELI officially launched new groups to serve Discover alumni, alongside strategic investments in events and the broader, growing ELI community. Groups, events, and community engagement was primarily executed and sustained by one full-time employee, the Executive Director, with the support of the Community Director, and collaborative and substantial support of a wider ecosystem of volunteers and the Board of Directors. To drive maximum program impact, the Executive Director coordinated and managed the implementation of five different groups to help support alumni's continued growth and practical application related to Gods design and purpose. Each group built on the essential learnings of Discover and incorporated the unique strengths of each facilitator. As a result, specific group topics ranged from stewardship, to mindfulness, to using commerce to best serve God and others. In partnership with the Community Director, the Executive Director also oversaw the execution of 16 events hosted or co-hosted by ELI along with key community building initiatives throughout the year. Through these events, community engagement, and groups, ELI was able to greatly increase its reach to over 800 individuals. All purposed to develop and grow the leadership of the ELI community, events included: a time of storytelling, a vision board workshop, a Winter Social, an enneagram discussion, a community game night, conversations about race & justice, and workshops led by companies such as Narrative Advantage and BoomLoop, which were founded by ELI members. It is in spaces like these where authentic relationships were sparked, new opportunities for growing with others occurred, and powerful breakthroughs were shared. Alumni were also provided with practical opportunities to serve in alignment with their design and purpose in the context of leadership roles within the ELI community. Further, these individuals were also provided with specific leadership coaching and development throughout this past year as an investment in them and their work. These individuals helped to initiate important aspects of ELI, such as the refinement of content for Discover, the implementation of recruitment efforts, the planning and execution of ELI community events, and more. By intentionally supporting these initiatives, ELI continues to steward its resources well, while expanding its influence and better serving a diverse, authentic community of leaders. | $0 | $31,216 |
| COACHING (10% of Program Expenses): In 2019-2020, ELI introduced individualized coaching for alumni and group facilitators. In total, 25 participants engaged in a series of 12 coaching sessions which provided strategic opportunities for tailored leadership coaching and Christ-centered development. As a collaboration between the Executive Director and a key volunteer leader, the ELI coaching program has piloted an additional, significant way of investing in the growth of ELI community members. Specifically, this program leveraged the use of Zoom and virtual relationships to help individuals find practical ways to serve, work, and align with their God-given purpose and grow new coaches as well. As a result of this past season of coaching, two new volunteer coaches were trained to support new participants and the goal is to continue to sustainably equip more volunteer coaches for the future. | $0 | $10,405 |
