The board of directors of enroll indy includes three ips superintendent appointees. The superintendent holds one seat and two of his/her direct reports hold two seats. The mayor of the city of indianapolis appoints his/her director of the office of education innovation and the other is a charter school representative from one of his/her authorized charter schools.

The bylaws were amended to formalize the school leader advisory council and to make changes to the appointment of directors.

A compensation study was performed by an outside firm in early 2016 while enroll indy was incubating within its fiscal sponsor. Upon becoming a separate organization, the board elected to continue the compensation level for the executive and entire staff going forward. Compensation adjustments are based on numerous factors, including performance evaluations and financial resources available to enroll indy at the time of the adjustment.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Professional accounting standards require the organization to recognize a tax liability only if it is more likely than not the tax position would be sustained in a tax examination, with a tax examination being presumed to occur. The amount recognized is the largest amount of tax liability that is greater than 50% likely of being realized on examination. For tax positions not meeting the more-likely-than-not test, no tax liability is recorded. The organization has examined this issue and has determined that there are no material contingent tax liabilities or questionable tax positions. Once filed, the returns are subject to audit for a period of three years. Since the organization was established in 2017, all returns filed to date are subject to audit.
