“The board of directors of enroll indy includes three ips superintendent appointees. The superintendent holds one seat and two of his/her direct reports hold two seats. The mayor of the city of indianapolis appoints his/her director of the office of education innovation and the other is a charter school representative from one of his/her authorized charter schools. The indiana charter school board executive director serves on the board, unless he/she appoints another representative from the indiana charter school board to serve instead. One member at large is also appointed by the board of directors.”

Upon becoming a separate organization, the board elected to continue the compensation level for the executive and entire staff going forward. Compensation adjustments are based on numerous factors, including performance evaluations and financial resources available to enroll indy at the time of the adjustment.”

“Enroll indy received a determination from the u.s. Treasury department stating it qualifies under the provisions of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code as a tax-exempt organization; however, enroll indy would not be subject to tax on income unrelated to its tax-exempt purpose. For the years ended june 30, 2025 and 2024, no accounting for federal and state income taxes was required to be included in the accompanying financial statements. Professional accounting standards require enroll indy to recognize a tax liability only if it is more likely than not the tax position would be sustained in a tax examination, with a tax examination being presumed to occur. The amount recognized is the largest amount of tax liability greater than 50% likely of being realized on examination. For tax positions not meeting the more-likely-than-not test, no tax liability is recorded. Enroll indy examined this issue and determined there are no material contingent tax liabilities or questionable tax positions.”
