The Board of Directors of Enroll Indy includes three IPS Superintendent appointees. The Superintendent holds one seat and two of his direct reports hold two seats. The Mayor of the City of Indianapolis appoints two employees from his Office of Education Innovation, one of whom is the Director and the other is a direct report of the Director.

A compensation study was performed by an outside firm in early 2016 while Enroll Indy was incubating within its fiscal sponsor. Upon becoming a separate organization, the board elected to continue the compensation level for the executive and entire staff going forward. Compensation adjustments are based on numerous factors, including performance evaluations and financial resources available to Enroll Indy at the time of the adjustment.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

Professional accounting standards require the School to recognize a tax liability only if it is more likely than not the tax position would be sustained in a tax examination, with a tax examination being presumed to occur. The amount recognized is the largest amount of tax liability that is greater than 50% likely of being realized on examination. For tax positions not meeting the more-likely-than-not test, no tax liability is recorded. The Organization has examined this issue and has determined that there are no material contingent tax liabilities or questionable tax positions. Since the Organization was established in fiscal year 2017, no federal or state returns have been filed as of the date of these financial statements. Once filed, the returns are subject to audit for a period of three years.

Enroll Indy's School Finder is an online tool that helps parents learn about their school options. This tool was launched in November 2016. Additionally, Enroll Indy intends to launch a unified school application called OneMatch and to provide data to policymakers to help them improve schools in Indianapolis. Enroll Indy supports all of this work with an extensive community outreach effort.

The amount recognized is the largest amount of tax liability that is greater than 50% likely of being realized on examination. For tax positions not meeting the more-likely-than-not test, no tax liability is recorded. The Organization has examined this issue and has determined that there are no material contingent tax liabilities or questionable tax positions. Since the Organization was established in fiscal year 2017, no federal or state returns have been filed as of the date of these financial statements. Once filed, the returns are subject to audit for a period of three years.
