Mission: rock paper scissors collective is a volunteer-run organization that fosters creativity and collaboration in order to strengthen local communities, encourage sustainable practices, and explore alternative models. We promote the sharing of ideas, skills, and resources through the celebration of art, craft, education, and performance. Psa1 - youth programming (expenses = ~36%) to promote youth involvement in all of our programming, rpsc offers youth internships to high school aged teenagers. There are two types of internship programs: one, a partnership with metwest high school, and the other, under the guidance of an rpsc member working in the intern's area of interest. All programs are volunteer run and would benefit greatly from your support rpsc partners with metwest high school to offer high school students student-initiated, project-driven internships. Internships run throughout the school year, two days a week. Projects have included: entrepreneurial airbrushing business, fashion design, and teaching teen fashion classes. Rpsc also offers youth the opportunity to intern in one of our program areas: small business management and entrepreneurship in arts, fashion, gallery programming, arts education, and arts lab. They are offered on a rolling basis. Finally, we reserve one month of gallery programming per year to feature our interns' art, giving these students the opportunity to have their work exhibited in a gallery space with and audience of over 1,000 people every month. Psa 2 - gallery exhibitions expenses = ~16%) rpsc produces exhibitions of new work by local artists throughout the year. We accept exhibition proposals from emerging and mid-career artists, collectives, community partners / organizations, and anyone in between. Rpsc does not produce solo exhibitions, because we aim to offer opportunity for individual artists to become more engaged in collaborative processes, and we seek to amplify the work of other artist collectives and group collaborations in the east bay. Psa 3 - classes and workshops (expenses = ~8%) the classes program offers opportunities to artists and folks with skills to share their passion and knowledge. Rpsc hosts free and low-price classes, taught by community members on everything from making soap, to skateboarding lessons for girls, to a variety of artistic media like origami and screen printing. This programming is designed to be accessible to all community members and provide opportunity for in-depth, quality arts education. We host regular sewing classes, tactile collage workshops that are deaf and deaf-blind accessible, and other diy workshops psa - other programs 1 - gallery exhibitions (expenses = ~16%) rpsc produces exhibitions of new work by local artists throughout the year. 2 - events (expenses = ~6%) being a shared space for the arts community is an important part of our culture. The collective members determine what types of events are best suited for our organization at any given time and space. We have hosted elaborate dance parties, themed readings, and musical and theatrical performances by local and regional artists. We are looking for more ways to interact with the public in creative and engaging ways. Our annual fundraiser events include roshambonanza craft fair and the vegan cupcake bakeoff. 3 - retail (expenses = 0%) our retail program consists of a local, handmade boutique, connecting the general public with creative and upcycled apparel, home goods, and personal accessories. There is a 60/40 maker/seller split on all items, delivering artists a profit on their diy wares whi
