The mission and vision of one heart source extends throughout the world, as vulnerable populations continue to be marginalized globally and injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. The long-term goal of our programs is to connect mentors, students, and communities from many nations into an international community of people who support each other and strive for greatness in education and life.
One heart source (ohs) operates social uplift programs designed to empower individuals, particularly vulnerable children, living within marginalized populations globally. In 2020, ohs operated three main branches of uplift programs: children's welfare in tanzania, education in south africa, and the global ohs collective.

“One heart source (ohs) operates social uplift programs designed to empower individuals, particularly vulnerable children, living within marginalized populations globally. In 2020, ohs operated three main branches of uplift programs: children's welfare in tanzania, education in south africa, and the global ohs collective. In 2020, programs in tanzania were focused on providing high-quality education and care to vulnerable youth via the ohs children's welfare network in arusha, tanzania. The purpose of the ohs children's welfare network is to support the well-being, growth, and development of vulnerable, abandoned, and orphaned children in arusha, tanzania. This is achieved through a mobile social welfare network that designs and implements sustainable life paths for each enrolled child based on their available web of care and academic opportunities. Ohs works with tanzanian social workers and the child's surviving family members to carefully research the family history and available network of care for every child enrolled in one heart source. Reintegration into the child's biological family is considered to be in the best interest of the child whenever possible, through capacity building and careful trials and monitoring, as it creates a long-term, non-institutional solution for the child. In this capacity, the ohs welfare network serves as the bridge to a long-term positive solution for each child, providing comprehensive resources to support the overall wellbeing of the child. Children's individual life paths are carefully monitored by ohs social workers, and caregivers in order to ensure that they receive the support they need to grow, learn and become contributing members of their communities. This support includes, but is not limited to: education - scholarships for education, school supplies, extracurricular activities, and other school-related necessities; health - access to high quality medical and dental care; nutrition - healthy, nutritious food and clean water; joy - entertainment, excursions, and play; and generally maximizing life opportunity. Overall, the goal of one heart source is to offer each child it serves the highest quality of life possible by improving the quality of daily nutrition, academic and social learning, personal care and attention, opportunity, choice, and freedom. One heart source is constantly refining its organizational model and methodology in order to meet the anticipated needs of the children under its care to ensure that they have the brightest future possible. Programs in cape town, south africa, were significantly disrupted in 2020 due to covid-19 and the associated travel restrictions. Since this program depends on international mentors collaborating with south african students we were not able to conduct our programs. Although significant year-long preparations were made to operate another year of meaningful growth with over 40 international university mentors, ohs was forced to cancel programs in compliance with u.s. And south african travel restrictions. One heart source functions as a collective of individuals who work towards social change together as a global community. Since 2008, the transformative partnerships created by ohs programs have resulted in more than 1,500 volunteers from around the world connecting in communities throughout the world. Ohs members represent more than 50 nationalities and have hailed from more than 140 different universities. Staff, volunteers, and programs are located in multiple locations, and international collaboration via travel and communication services are integral to the development and management of programs. The long-term goal of our programs is to connect mentors, students, and communities from many nations into an international community of people who support each other and strive for greatness in education and life.”

IN 2020, OHS OPERATED THREE MAIN BRANCHES OF UPLIFT PROGRAMS: CHILDREN'S WELFARE IN TANZANIA, EDUCATION IN SOUTH AFRICA, AND THE GLOBAL OHS COLLECTIVE. IN 2020, PROGRAMS IN TANZANIA WERE FOCUSED ON PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION AND CARE TO VULNERABLE YOUTH VIA THE OHS CHILDREN'S WELFARE NETWORK IN ARUSHA, TANZANIA. THE PURPOSE OF THE OHS CHILDREN'S WELFARE NETWORK IS TO SUPPORT THE WELL-BEING, GROWTH, AND DEVELOPMENT OF VULNERABLE, ABANDONED, AND ORPHANED CHILDREN IN ARUSHA, TANZANIA. THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH A MOBILE SOCIAL WELFARE NETWORK THAT DESIGNS AND IMPLEMENTS SUSTAINABLE LIFE PATHS FOR EACH ENROLLED CHILD BASED ON THEIR AVAILABLE WEB OF CARE AND ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES. OHS WORKS WITH TANZANIAN SOCIAL WORKERS AND THE CHILD'S SURVIVING FAMILY MEMBERS TO CAREFULLY RESEARCH THE FAMILY HISTORY AND AVAILABLE NETWORK OF CARE FOR EVERY CHILD ENROLLED IN ONE HEART SOURCE. REINTEGRATION INTO THE CHILD'S BIOLOGICAL FAMILY IS CONSIDERED TO BE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD WHENEVER POSSIBLE, THROUGH CAPACITY BUILDING AND CAREFUL TRIALS AND MONITORING, AS IT CREATES A LONG-TERM, NON-INSTITUTIONAL SOLUTION FOR THE CHILD. IN THIS CAPACITY, THE OHS WELFARE NETWORK SERVES AS THE BRIDGE TO A LONG-TERM POSITIVE SOLUTION FOR EACH CHILD, PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THE OVERALL WELLBEING OF THE CHILD. CHILDREN'S INDIVIDUAL LIFE PATHS ARE CAREFULLY MONITORED BY OHS SOCIAL WORKERS, AND CAREGIVERS IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT THEY RECEIVE THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO GROW, LEARN AND BECOME CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES. THIS SUPPORT INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: EDUCATION - SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EDUCATION, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, AND OTHER SCHOOL-RELATED NECESSITIES; HEALTH - ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE; NUTRITION - HEALTHY, NUTRITIOUS FOOD AND CLEAN WATER; JOY - ENTERTAINMENT, EXCURSIONS, AND PLAY; AND GENERALLY MAXIMIZING LIFE OPPORTUNITY. OVERALL, THE GOAL OF ONE HEART SOURCE IS TO OFFER EACH CHILD IT SERVES THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF LIFE POSSIBLE BY IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF DAILY NUTRITION, ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL LEARNING, PERSONAL CARE AND ATTENTION, OPPORTUNITY, CHOICE, AND FREEDOM. ONE HEART SOURCE IS CONSTANTLY REFINING ITS ORGANIZATIONAL MODEL AND METHODOLOGY IN ORDER TO MEET THE ANTICIPATED NEEDS OF THE CHILDREN UNDER ITS CARE TO ENSURE THAT THEY HAVE THE BRIGHTEST FUTURE POSSIBLE. PROGRAMS IN CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA, WERE SIGNIFICANTLY DISRUPTED IN 2020 DUE TO COVID-19 AND THE ASSOCIATED TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS. SINCE THIS PROGRAM DEPENDS ON INTERNATIONAL MENTORS COLLABORATING WITH SOUTH AFRICAN STUDENTS WE WERE NOT ABLE TO CONDUCT OUR PROGRAMS. ALTHOUGH SIGNIFICANT YEAR-LONG PREPARATIONS WERE MADE TO OPERATE ANOTHER YEAR OF MEANINGFUL GROWTH WITH OVER 40 INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY MENTORS, OHS WAS FORCED TO CANCEL PROGRAMS IN COMPLIANCE WITH U.S. AND SOUTH AFRICAN TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS. ONE HEART SOURCE FUNCTIONS AS A COLLECTIVE OF INDIVIDUALS WHO WORK TOWARDS SOCIAL CHANGE TOGETHER AS A GLOBAL COMMUNITY. SINCE 2008, THE TRANSFORMATIVE PARTNERSHIPS CREATED BY OHS PROGRAMS HAVE RESULTED IN MORE THAN 1,500 VOLUNTEERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD CONNECTING IN COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. OHS MEMBERS REPRESENT MORE THAN 50 NATIONALITIES AND HAVE HAILED FROM MORE THAN 140 DIFFERENT UNIVERSITIES. STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, AND PROGRAMS ARE LOCATED IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, AND INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION VIA TRAVEL AND COMMUNICATION SERVICES ARE INTEGRAL TO THE DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF PROGRAMS.
