All salaries are compared with other non-profit organizations with similiar budget size.”

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Music in the Park celebrated its' 27th season in 2015-16, drawing over 10,500 attendees over three, after-work concerts - all at Plaza de Cesar Chavez. The series kick off was a July 17, 2015 concert featuring popular Bay area salsa bands (whose leaders originated from Puerto Rico and Cuba respectively). This was followed by two Grammy award winning bands - Latin rockers Los Lonely Boys on August. 28, 2015 and Latin/Tex Mex blues/rockers Los Lobos on June 24, 2016. The Series continued to grow momentum, in its third season as a "paid" event, and strives to bring a diverse range of bands to attract attendees of all ethnicities, age and gender.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0The Downtown San Jose Activation Fund (DSJAF) funded by the Knight Foundation activates public spaces of downtown San Jose with events, exhibits and interactive projects, creating a mixture of environments where people live, work, and enjoy the urban lifestyle with an interesting, exciting and inspiring range of activities and experiences. Downtown public spaces were activated from July 2015 through June 2016 with 11days of programming and approximately 8,500 attendees. Events were produced by nine different grantees and showcased Video Poetry in Public Spaces; Classical arts performed in non-tradiotinal, outdoor spaces; Pop Up break dancing and DJ scratching clinics - along with youth-powered live entertainment; Poetry Slam as Noontime series in St James Park.
