“The harris county domestic violence coordinating council (hcdvcc) has been awarded approximately $5,300,000 for the harris county early childhood resiliency fund 603(c)(1)(a) of the american rescue plan act 2021 (pub. Law 117-2), a program designed to support local service providers in incubating, accelerating and enhancing solutions to the problem of responding to the developmental and therapeutic needs of young children in the county that have been exposed to intimate partner violence ("ipv") and domestic violence ("dv"), which was exacerbated by the covid-19 pandemic. This funding will be dispersed to up to 20 harris county-based public, nonprofit, and academic agencies that can provide evidence of enhanced and innovative services for children and their families, giving priority to those with the most innovative service delivery.”
“The council qualifies as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and, therefore, no provision for federal income taxes is made in the financial statements. Additionally, contributions made to the council qualify for the charitable contribution deduction under the provisions of the internal revenue code. The council is not a private foundation under provisions of the internal revenue code. The council has no unrelated business activity that would require it to file a 990t and pay income taxes. The council believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements.”
