Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Training christian youth camp leaders worldwide

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
International Ministries - sponsored & conducted events to train and equip indigenous leaders in their homeland who are engaged in reaching the upcoming generation through Christian youth camps worldwide. During 2013, approximately 10.5 million people were reached through summer camps worldwide. A Christian camp is the most effective means of reaching the most receptive hearts. Jan. 2013: Board of Directors Meeting, Dallas, full attendance, inspired leadership, excellent results. Feb. 2013: Texas Section Conference of Christian Camp & Conference Association (CCCA) Exec. Dir. DeGroat participated in the networking, relationship building, and strengthening; interacted with a camping leader from Sierra Leone and took the first step in building a bridge from our work in 8-year work in East Africa to West Africa. Event was held in Glenrose, TX. Feb. 2013: Christian Camp Leaders Conference, Moscow, Russia. More than 197 indigenous leaders from all across the former USSR. Exec. Dir. DeGroat taught many hours of content, brought in western instructors to complement local instructors. True collaboration, student evaluations high. May 2013: Christian Camp Leaders Conference, Klaipeda, Lithuania on the campus of Lithuania Christian College. Approximately 35 indigenous leaders from countries including Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Belarus were equipped and inspired to conduct effective youth camp ministries in their own countries. Spring 2013: Staff member Stan Gillespie attended the Alaska CCCA Section conference; networking, visible presence, promoting the ministry. Gillespie is also actively consulting on camp development in Sri Lanka and India. He is on the board of directors at Alaska Bible Collegebroad influence. Spring 2013: DeGroat taught at the Camp Directors Institute held jointly in Moscow, Russia with Moscow Evangelical Christian Seminary. Dan DeGroat taught 22 hours of content to 12 advanced leaders. Sept. 2013: 7th year of annual training in East Africa initiated by GOG. Exec. Dir. DeGroat attended, taught courses, assisted in bringing other western instructors to the event. This training was initiated by GOG in 2006; leaders have now been trained in Christian youth camping from 8 East African countries; full indigenous leadership is in place; it is completely locally led and owned. Oct. 2013: 3rd annual joint training conference for camping leaders in India. This time in Bangalore. Some 60 participants from all across India. Held at a Christian-owned training facility. Exec. Dir. DeGroat taught 12 content-hours; staff member Stan Gillespie also taught and did individual consulting, staff member Ginny Gillespie participated in the event as well. Dec. 2013: Exec. Dir. DeGroat & staff member Gillespie participated in the Christian Camp and Conference Association (CCCA) national conference in Colorado Springs, CO. Some 800 in attendance jointly with Canada. Time of networking, participating particularly with international guests. DeGroat participated in Legacy Leaders event post-conference by invitation of Christian Camping International; made a presentation, networked with key leaders and supporters, supported CCI/Worldwide. DeGroat also continued to serve CCI/Worldwide as Regional Rep for the former USSR, and is engaged at the international level. Adam Carlsen, staff member on assignment in Latin America, serves at Camp Roblealto in Costa Rica assisting the local leadership in areas of program, marketing, and sound business practices which strengthen the ministry locally and throughout Latin America. In 2013 he started his own mission agency with the blessing and encouragement of Global Outreach Group. His new Costa Rica-based ministry is doing well, and GOG is pleased to have had small a role in its development. GOG process the support funding for many like-minded workers in camping throughout the world, enabling their ministries to excel in keeping with our purpose of Training Christian Youth Camp Leaders Worldwide. Those areas include: Latin America, Romania, Russia, Jamaica, , India, and Africa. Bottom line: Were doing exactly what we say we do, and doing it with integrity. God is honoring our work; may He receive the credit.GOG conducts activities outside the United States which are in line with the Organization's exempt purpose. The following funds were provided to the various countries in providing missionary support to train Christian youth camp leaders worldwide. Each missionary supported maintains a debt card from the United States where their support is raised and is funded to them on a monthly basis in order to carry out the Organization's exempt purpose. These funds were used in conjuction with program services for training.Russia $14,246Central America $15,086South Asia $8,675Europe $8,891$224,153-
