Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

Minutes are maintained for every board meeting, but not for committee meetings.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Leap engages a third party accounting firm to prepare the form 990 which is reviewed by the finance committee. Once approved, the return is submitted to the board for review and final approval. After all approvals are confirmed, the form 990 is filed with the irs.

After disclosure, the employee or board member will not be permitted to participate in the transaction or decision. These statements are typically completed and signed at the first board meeting of the year.

The organization does not currently compensate directors or officers.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy and financial statements available to the public upon request.
