Seeking to put god's love into action, habitat for humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope to realize our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat for humanity central arizona adheres to a strict non-proselytizing policy and will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.

Building simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with families in need.

The finance committee is presented the draft 990 prior to filing. The following week the board of directors is presented the draft for their review and approval. If there are still pending items that won't be resolved before the next meeting, but the return will need to be filed, then conditional approval will be given and the staff is responsible for notifying the finance committee and the board of any items that were changed.

Currently there are no ongoing conflict of interest tranactions. If any conflicts are disclosed they would are submitted to the secretary. Upon the disclosure of an actual or potential conflict of interest of a director, officer or staff person the board secretary will disclose the conflict to the board who can then vote on the conflict with the person in question excused from the room with the minutes reflecting the vote and that the interested party did not take part in the vote.

IRS990/Desc0HABITAT FOR HUMANITY CENTRAL ARIZONA WAS THE TOP PRODUCER OF NEW AND RENOVATED HOMES OUT OF THE NEARLY 1,600 HABITAT FOR HUMANITY AFFILIATES IN THE UNITED STATES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR.FOR FY 14-15 WE BUILT 17 NEW HOMES, RENOVATED 15 HOMES AND REPAIRED 238 HOMES. AVONDALE - WE COMPLETED ONE HOME AND STARTED 2 MORE IN HILLCREST VILLAGE, OUR 37-HOME COMMUNITY. HILLCREST VILLAGE OFFERS THREE - TO FIVE-BEDROOM SINGLE-FAMILY DETACHED HOMES WITH GARAGE AND A HOA. MESA - ONE HOME WAS RENOVATED IN MESA WITH THE PARTNERSHIP OF THE CITY OF MESA HOME PROGRAM PROVIDING $40,000.00 IN DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE. APACHE JUNCTION - TWO HOMES WERE RENOVATED IN THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION ALONG WITH ONE HOME REPAIR COMPLETED. GLENDALE - WE COMPLETED SIX NEW HOMES AND RENOVATED TWO VACANT HOMES. INCLUDED IN THE SIX NEW HOMES, WAS OUR FIRST RECONSTRUCT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF GLENDALE. PEORIA - FOUR HOMES WERE RENOVATED IN THE CITY OF PEORIA THIS YEAR. FOUR HOMES THAT REMAINED VACANT NOW HAVE CONTRIBUTING FAMILIES LIVING IN THE HOMES. WE ALSO CONTRIBUTED TWO NEW CONSTRUCTION HOMES TO THE CITY. PHOENIX - WE COMPLETED TWO RENOVATIONS OF VACANT HOMES. ONE NEW HOME WAS BUILT ON AN INFILL LOT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF PHOENIX YOUTHBUILD PROGRAM AND WILL BE CERTIFIED LEED PLATINUM. SIX ADDITIONAL NEW BUILDS WERE COMPLETED AS WELL. EL MIRAGE - WE WERE PRESENT THIS YEAR IN THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE WITH ONE HOME RENOVATION AND ALSO HELPED REPAIR WATER HEATERS AND/OR STOVES AND DRYERS IN 24 HOMES. SURPRISE - HABITAT RECONSTRUCTED A HOME IN DIRE NEED OF TEAR DOWN AND RESTORATION. WITH THE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF SURPRISE, WE WERE ABLE TO KEEP A FAMILY FROM WALKING AWAY FROM THEIR HOME BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF REPAIRS NEEDED. WE ALSO RENOVATED ONE VACANT FORECLOSED PROPERTY. COOLIDGE - THIS IS OUR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW HAVING SERVICING A FAMILY IN THE CITY WITH THE RENOVATION OF ONE VACANT HOME. CASA GRANDE - WE REACHED THE CITY OF CASA GRANDE THIS YEAR, RENOVATION ONE HOME.REPAIR - THIS YEAR MARKED A NOTABLE PARTNERSHIP WITH GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY WITH OUR NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PRODUCT. WITH THIS PARTNERSHIP WE WERE ABLE TO BEGIN HOME REPAIRS ON THE FIRST PHASE OF THE CANYON CORRIDOR. WE REPAIRED 31 HOMES THIS FISCAL YEAR.IN EL MIRAGE, WE PARTNERED WITH SOUTHWEST GAS AND HELP REMOVE OLD WATER HEATERS, STOVES AND DRYERS AND REPLACE THEM WITH NEW APPLIANCES IN 24 HOMES. INCLUDING OUR HOME REPAIR PROGRAM AND THE CITY OF GLENDALE AND THE CITY OF CHANDLER EMERGENCY HOME REPAIR PROGRAMS AND THE TWO PARTNERSHIPS MENTIONED ABOVE; WE REPAIRED 238 FAMILY HOMES.ADDITIONALLY:WE PARTNERED WITH 5,190 VOLUNTEERS WHO SPENT OVER 86,770 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO HELP WITH HOME CONSTRUCTION, PROPERTY MAINTENANCE, COMMITTEE WORK, OFFICE SUPPORT, OUTREACH, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPPORT IN OUR RESTORES. BECAUSE OF THEIR DEDICATION TO THE HABITAT MISSION, HABITAT HAS REALIZED A LABOR SAVINGS OF $1,221,353.WE SERVED MORE THAN 108,529 CUSTOMERS AT OUR FIVE RESTORE LOCATIONS, WHICH GENERATED OVER $179,461 TO HELP FURTHER OUR MISSION. WE HAVE BECOME A RECOGNIZED LEADER IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION OF HOMES THAT ARE REGISTERED AS LEADERSHIP IN ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (LEED) CERTIFICATION.OUR EFFORTS BENEFIT FAMILIES WHO MEET OUR QUALIFICATIONS: ARE U.S. CITIZENS OR PERMANENT RESIDENTS. ARE LOW INCOME, MEANING THEIR ANNUAL GROSS HOUSEHOLD INCOME IS BETWEEN 30% AND 60% OF THE AREA MEDIAN INCOME FOR MARICOPA AND PINAL COUNTY AREAS, ADJUSTED FOR FAMILY SIZE. HAVE A TWO-YEAR HISTORY OF STABLE INCOME. MONTHLY LONG-TERM DEBT PAYMENTS, INCLUDING PROSPECTIVE MORTGAGE PAYMENT, ARE NO MORE THAN 41% OF A FAMILY'S MONTHLY GROSS INCOME.
