Mission and Program Overview

Mission

We are a global movement working to end child hunger in the u.s. And around the world. Together with communities, we provide food, essentials, and opportunities so every child can survive and thrive.

Feed the children exists to end childhood hunger. We envision a world where no child goes to bed hungry. Every day we provide hope and resources to children without life's essentials. We know it takes the power of many to end childhood hunger for good. We connect donors, experts, partners, leaders and communities to attack the problem from all angles.in the u.s., we champion children through short-term food aid, education programs and disaster relief. Internationally, we have a four-pillar approach to attack problems of hunger: food & nutrition, health & water, education, and livelihoods.for more information about specific programs, please visit www.feedthechildren.org

IRS990/Desc0FOOD, MEDICAL AND HEALTH CARE:FEED THE CHILDREN SEEKS TO EMPOWER CHILDREN TO DEFEAT HUNGER. WE CHAMPION CHILDREN IN ALL 50 STATES AND IN 18 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD, WORKING WITH OUR NETWORK OF DOMESTIC PARTNERS, INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATES, AND SUBSIDIARIES. FOOD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT IN OUR VISION TO CREATE A WORLD WHERE NO CHILD GOES TO BED HUNGRY. FEED THE CHILDREN WORKS WITH A NETWORK OF THOUSANDS OF PARTNER AGENCIES IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS AMERICA. OUR PARTNER AGENCIES INCLUDE FOOD PANTRIES, SHELTERS, SOUP KITCHENS AND CHURCHES. THESE AGENCIES MAKE SURE THE DONATED FOOD AND OTHER ESSENTIALS REACH FAMILIES IN NEED IN THE U.S. - FREE OF CHARGE. WORKING WITH OUR INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATES, WE FEED THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN EVERY SCHOOL DAY IN COUNTRIES INCLUDING KENYA, TANZANIA, UGANDA, MALAWI, HONDURAS, EL SALVADOR, GUATEMALA, NICARAGUA, HAITI, AND THE PHILIPPINES.THERE'S A CLEAR LINK BETWEEN WATER AND HUNGER. DIRTY WATER MAKES CHILDREN SICK, AND SICK CHILDREN CAN'T RETAIN THE NUTRIENTS IN FOOD. WITHOUT CLEAN WATER, OUR SHARED EFFORTS TO MAKE SURE NO CHILD GOES TO BED HUNGRY CAN BE WASTED. THROUGH OUR SUPPORT OF OUR INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATES, WE INSTALLED CLEAN WATER SYSTEMS SUCH AS WELLS, WATER LINES, AND RAINWATER CATCHMENT SYSTEMS, ALONG WITH SCHOOL BATHROOM FACILITIES IN SITES WITHIN THE COUNTRIES WE SERVE. THESE IMPLEMENTATIONS BENEFITED OVER THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.
