The foster parent support program helps provide the opportunity, in many cases, for one parent to dedicate their full attention to working inside the home. Specific services,therapies, medical needs and extracurricular activities are also now a reality to their children who without Peppers Ranch support, would most likely have gone without.Tutoring -- Over 90% of our population has documented delay or disability related to drug exposure, abuse or neglect. In some cases the children have arrived at Peppers Ranch missing months, even years of prior attendance in school. This disadvantaged and high-risk population needs the involvement and positive re-enforcement of educators specifically dedicated to assisting them in the achievement of academic success. With our dedicated use of skilled educators, our children have improved language and math skills, developed self confidence and improved comprehension, problem solving and decision making skills.Equestrian Center -- The Equestrian Riding Center at Peppers Ranch is using equine-oriented activities for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being of children with disabilities and emotional issues. The biggest obstacle for many of the children arriving at Peppers Ranch is learning to trust again. In the eyes of a child, a horse can be a large and often intimidating animal. The bond the children build with the horses through this program is important, big step in learning to trust humans again. Our program not only addresses their trust issues it also improves each participants specific issues such as communication, honesty, accountability, responsibility, patience, self-respect, respect for others, self-confidence, anger, and social skills.”

It should be pointed out this not an expenditure, but an accounting entry to make the ending restricted endowment funds balance to the actual restriction of $50,000.”
