EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRYOUR OVERALL OBJECTIVE IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF OURNEIGHBORS' LIVES BY MEETING THEIR NEEDS FOR HEALTHY EMERGENCY FOODSERVICES. OUR EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY (EFP) HAS BEEN IN CONTINUOUSOPERATION SINCE 2000 AND PROVIDES, AT NO COST, SEVEN DAYS' WORTH OFFOOD FOR A FAMILY OR INDIVIDUAL ONE EACH MONTH. WE PROTECT THE SECURITYOF OUR DONATED SPACE, OUR FRUGAL BUDGET, AND THE DIGNITY OF OUR CLIENTSBY UTILIZING CAREFULLY SCREENED VOLUNTEERS FOR HOME DELIVERIES. DURINGOUR 2023-2024 FISCAL YEAR WE SERVED 864 UNDUPLICATED INDIVIDUALS, AND1450 DUPLICATED INDIVIDUALS. OF THESE DUPLICATED INDIVIDUALS, 34% WERECHILDREN, 22% WERE SENIORS, AND AN ESTIMATED 65% OF THE HOUSEHOLDSKENDALL WHITTIER, INC. 73-1016797INCLUDED AT LEAST ONE DISABLED ADULT. OUR PANTRY IS CLEAN, ORGANIZEDAND EFFICIENT. OUR TEAM WORKS WITH PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR CLIENTS RECEIVE INFORMATION ABOUT OTHER SERVICES IN THENEIGHBORHOOD THAT CAN HELP THEM AVOID A FUTURE NEED FOR EMERGENCY FOOD.OUR OBJECTIVES FOR THE EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY FOR OUR 2024-2025 FISCALYEAR ARE TO:PROVIDE NUTRITIOUS AND CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE EMERGENCY FOOD IN ATIMELY MANNER.COMMUNICATE TO RESIDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY ABOUT THE SERVICES WEPROVIDE.INCREASE OUR OUTREACH TO HISPANIC FAMILIES.-$59,284
COMMUNITY GARDEN PROGRAMSGROW TEACHING GARDEN (GARDENING TO REACH OUT AND WELCOME)OUR GROW TEACHING GARDEN IS PRIMARILY AN OUTDOOR CLASSROOM FORNEIGHBORHOOD CHILDREN AS WELL AS STUDENTS FROM TULSA EDUCARE ANDKENDALL WHITTIER ELEMENTARY. WE SERVE AND EDUCATE CHILDREN BY PROVIDINGHANDS-ON EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES TO ENHANCE THE STUDENTSUNDERSTANDING OF THE STEM CONCEPTS THEY ARE STUDYING IN SCHOOL. OURGARDEN OPERATES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IN OUR FOUR SEASON CLIMATE WHICHACCOMMODATES GROWING A WIDE VARIETY OF ORGANIC PRODUCE. FOOD ISHARVESTED AND PREPARED IN A VARIETY OF WAYS TO BEST EXPLORE THE FLAVORSOF OUR CROPS. CHILDREN WITNESS THE PROCESS OF THOUGHTFUL COMPOSTINGWHICH TURNS WHAT MIGHT BE CONSIDERED TRASH INTO VALUABLE AND HEALTHYSOIL. OUR GROW GARDEN IS WELL-LOVED AND HAS A CREATIVE, DEDICATEDGARDEN COORDINATOR. OUR GOAL IS TO SERVE EVEN MORE NEIGHBORHOODRESIDENTS, PRIMARILY CHILDREN. WE SEEK TO INSTILL IN THEM A SENSE OFKENDALL WHITTIER, INC. 73-1016797WELL-BEING AND THE ACCOMPLISHMENT AND PRIDE THAT COMES FROM SEEING ATASK THROUGH FROM BEGINNING TO END. WE ALSO STRIVE TO FIND WAYS FOR ALL KENDALL WHITTIER RESIDENTS TO ENGAGE WITH OUR GARDENS AND FOR GARDENERSTO BUILD A SHARED SENSE OF COMMUNITY. OVERALL, IN OUR FISCAL YEARENDING JUNE 30, 2024, THE GROW GARDEN SERVED 289 UNDUPLICATED CHILDRENAND 132 UNDUPLICATED ADULTS.OUR OBJECTIVES FOR THE GROW TEACHING GARDEN FOR OUR 2024-2025 FISCALYEAR ARE TO:CONTINUE TO SERVE AND EDUCATE THE CHILDREN WHO VISIT THE GARDEN BYDEVELOPING CURRICULUM THAT TEACHES SUSTAINABLE GARDENING AND CREATES ALOVE FOR EATING NUTRITIOUS FOOD.INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS VISITING THE GARDEN.INCREASE OUR OUTREACH TO NEIGHBORS BY PROVIDING MORE VOLUNTEEROPPORTUNITIES.PROMOTE THE ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS OF GARDENING, ESPECIALLY IN ANURBAN AREA.-$53,668
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND OUTREACHOUR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND OUTREACH EFFORTS ATKENDALL-WHITTIER AND SEQUOYAH ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS INCLUDE PARTICIPATIONIN BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT EVENTS AND VOLUNTEER AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT OFTHE ANNUAL HOLIDAY GIFT BAG PROGRAM. IN DECEMBER 2023, OUR HOLIDAY GIFTBAGS PROGRAM PROVIDED NUTRITIOUS FOOD ITEMS FOR APPROXIMATELY 1200STUDENTS. THE GIFT BAGS HELP FAMILIES STRETCH THEIR FOOD DOLLARS DURINGWINTER BREAK WHEN CHILDREN AREN'T ABLE TO EAT BREAKFAST AND LUNCH ATSCHOOL.-$9,692

OUR PANTRY IS CLEAN, ORGANIZEDAND EFFICIENT. OURGARDEN OPERATES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IN OUR FOUR SEASON CLIMATE WHICHACCOMMODATES GROWING A WIDE VARIETY OF ORGANIC PRODUCE.
