The association uses a modified cash basis of accounting. Certain revenues are recognized when received rather than when earned and certain expenses are recognized when paid rather than when the expense was incurred. Depreciation is recorded on the straight line method over the useful life of the asset. Investments, fixed assets and cash value of life insurance are recognized as assets.
