Activity 2

Climate plan- worked with 25 san joaquin valley organizations to preserve the region's greenhouse gas (ghg) reduction targets of 5% by 2020, and 10% by 2035. - hosted several meetings of a workgroup focused on cap and trade revenue that later evolved into the sustainable communities for all campaign. Most of their platform was incorporated into the air resources board recommendations and the governors final proposal for use of cap and trade funds. - continued to build capacity and engage underrepresented communities in the sb 375 process. In fresno, supported outreach by four community organizations to over 2,000 community members normally not engaged in the public workshop process, translated workshop materials, and conducted additional workshops for monolingual hmong and spanish speakers.

Activity 3

Safe routes to schools- facilitated the participation of 45 schools in bike to school day, up from 7 schools in 2011. This tripled bike ridership for that day, with over 1,600 students riding to school.- ran the golden sneaker contest to promote walking and biking at 38 schools, up from 12 schools in 2011.- launched the bike mobile pilot program, which repaired 717 bikes at 29 schools, resulting in a 30 percent increase in bicycling at these schools.- served 98 elementary and middle schools and launched pilot programming at four high schools, to reach more than 42,500 students at a total of 102 schools. - 24 more schools and 12,500 more students than 2011. - assisted in regional planning and trainings for bay area-wide safe routes to schools programming.
