“Statement of program services accomplishments - the dana hills swim team is a recreational and competitive swim program designed to provide swimmers of all levels with the opportunity to learn stroke technique under the specific age group format.the following objectives help to fulfill this purpose:1. To develop and maintain a high quality swim program with an emphasis on building self-esteem, camaraderie, good sportsmanship and team spirit.2. To teach swimmers ages four to eighteen the physical and mental skills required to participate and compete as a member of a recreational swim team.3. To provide a fun, social environment where children and their parents can enjoy the sport of swimming on a competitive level, and where families can interact to promote a sense of community that will endure beyond the swim season.the total number of participating youth swimmers varies from year to year, ranging from 185 to 235 swimmers.the dana hills swim team's largest special fund raising event, called the "devil mountain pentathlon", involves over 900 swimmers paying a registration fee and competing in a day-long competition with prizes and awards for the winners.”
