KidCare International worsk with children in schools & orphanages in Russia, Tanzania, South Africa, and Sri Lanka - children who are uncertain of their next meal, spend cold nights on a street looking for shelter, and want a better tomorrow but can't pay the tuition/uniform/book fees for a basic public education to get their dream.A full sponsorship is $30.00/month.Cow, Chicken, Garden Projects -One of the most creative but logical and time-proven ways to provide food and healthy diet for vulnerable children in Africa is the cow, chicken, and garden projects. The idea is to give a source of food while teaching children life-sustaining ethics rather than short-term relief. While some orphanages and care centers are located in the city and are not coducive to this type of enterprise, others are ideally situated in rural sites perfect for agricultural endeavors. With the Cow Project, Chicken Project, and Garden Project, the children learn basic techniques and responsibilities of farming and free enterprise. After the dietary needs of the children are met, excess milk, eggs, poultry, and vegetables are sold at the marketplace, offering additional training and experience in micro-business and basic financing.Beloved Daughter - Beloved Daughter is a holistic prevention, self-esteem, life-skill program to address the underlying contributing factors relating to rising numbers of HIV cases in girls and young women. Many girls are vulnerable to HIV infection because of risky sexual behavior and substance abuse. Beloved Daughter strives to educate and nurture girls and young women gain skills necessary to live a life protected from HIV. | Domestic Programs - Food Bank - KidCare International serves 350 families a week in the Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside county area providing food staples for the week and links to resources as needed.Summer Camp - KidCare Participates as a Summer Food Service Program sponsor, a program funded through the USDA. KidCare holds a six week summer day camp for children, primarily from the Claremont Unified School District, who live in the pocket of poverty along the Foothill Blvd corridor of hotels and motels. The camp provides children with STEM educational projects and activities, along with summertime fun such as water wars, hikes, and volleyball. Through its partnership with the USDA Summer Food Program, campers are provided with thrree nutritious meals a day during the camp session. Finally, campers are provided with a backpack filled with back to school supplies, shoes, and socks.KidPaks - Needy children from the Claremont, Pomona, and Ontario-Montclair school districts are provided with backpacks filled with school supplies and necessities like socks and shoes.
