DOMESTICThe domestic programs of KidCare Internatinoal experienced substantial growth in the year 2024. While the increase was more than projected it was still manageable due to an increase in support.41,126 individuals received food from the KCI Food Bank for the year. We also provided Thanksgiving dinners for 284 families. Thanks to our food donors Vons, Target, Costco, Smart 'n Final, Walmart, Whole Foods, Grocery Outlet, Pizza Huts, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonalds, and Auntie Anne's, we never ran short of necessary provisions to mee the needs of food insecure families. With the volunteer help fo our partners we were able to fill necessary work teams every Saturday. Our volunteer partners come from local businesses, high schools, churches, service clubs, colleges/universities, and big hearted neighbors. This weekly project requires 15-20 volunteers to give an average of 4 hours each Saturday. Some volunteers will invest 6-8 hours each Saturday while the management team may invest 6-8 hours 3-4 days/week.The food pickup also requires a dedicated team. Refrigerated vehicles making daily, scheduled, and special food pickups.Again KCI partnered with the Claremont Police Department for the annual Christmas toy giveaway. Over 1,500 new top quality toys were gathered and given away. This year we also began a new annual toy drive with the City of Upland. Over 1,000 toys were collected and handed out to elementary aged students.INTERNATIONALKCI continues our international programs through our center for street children in Arusha, Tanzania, Africa. In 2024 sponsors provided necessary resources to enagle our center to provide housing, care, and education for over 90 children.Among our programsis the child/monther program which provides pregnanat high school aged girls with a place to live, give birth, and raise their child. About 90% of the pregnanacies are due to rape. Pregnant girls are not allowed to attend school so we house and care for them until they give birth, after that we care for their infant as they return to school to earn their diploma.Other children may be dropped off by a parent who is not able to care for their child or by the Social Services Department. We are fully qualified by the government to provide this service. We have many success stories of our street kids going on to become great additional to their community and country: school teachers, social workers, business people, attorneys, etc. This year we have another one of our girls graduate from medical school and is now a physician, and another young man graduated and is now a pharmacist, while another is a vetrinarian for farm animals.-$9,448
