Department of labor - workforce innovation and opportunity act (wioa)adult and dislocated worker 2022-2023 careersource palm beach county had 382 active adult and dislocated workers who received career services training services and various types of assessments to assist them with career planning during the 2022-2023 program year. Of those individuals, 157 were new recipients of individual training accounts (itas) with encumbrances of 651,082.11. In addition, 13 trainees were enrolled in the onthejobtraining (ojt) program with a total of 92,088.80 reimbursed to employers. Of the 113 individuals scheduled to complete their training during this program year, a total of 110 (97%) did so. Of those adult workers served, 79% were in a priority category (public assistance, low income, basic skills deficient). A total of 280 wioa adult and dislocated workers exited the program, and 54% of those exited with a positive outcome of employment.

Department of labor - workforce investment opportunity act (wioa) youth 2022-2023 careersource palm beach county's young adult program serves young adults ages 16-24. Our program includes career exploration, job preparation, financial literacy, soft skills training, paid work experience, and more. The program also provides young adults with valuable training in hospitality, which is a high demand industry in palm beach county. Upon successful completion of training, program clients are awarded credentials which increase their employability when competing for job opportunities in our community. During program year 2022-2023, the young adult program had a total of 175 enrolled program participants with 38 of those being in school youth (22%); and of those that exited 44% had a positive outcome. The program provided internships to 76 participants and issued 27 scholarships for postsecondary training, as well as 2 on-the-job training (ojt) opportunities. Collectively, there were 66 credentials earned.

OUR PROGRAM INCLUDES CAREER EXPLORATION, JOB PREPARATION, FINANCIAL LITERACY, SOFT SKILLS TRAINING, PAID WORK EXPERIENCE, AND MORE. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES YOUNG ADULTS WITH VALUABLE TRAINING IN HOSPITALITY, WHICH IS A HIGH DEMAND INDUSTRY IN PALM BEACH COUNTY. UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING, PROGRAM CLIENTS ARE AWARDED CREDENTIALS WHICH INCREASE THEIR EMPLOYABILITY WHEN COMPETING FOR JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. DURING PROGRAM YEAR 2022-2023, THE YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM HAD A TOTAL OF 175 ENROLLED PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS WITH 38 OF THOSE BEING IN SCHOOL YOUTH (22%); AND OF THOSE THAT EXITED 44% HAD A POSITIVE OUTCOME. THE PROGRAM PROVIDED INTERNSHIPS TO 76 PARTICIPANTS AND ISSUED 27 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POSTSECONDARY TRAINING, AS WELL AS 2 ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT) OPPORTUNITIES. COLLECTIVELY, THERE WERE 66 CREDENTIALS EARNED.

REGION 21 ACHIEVED 17.1% FOR THE ENTERED EMPLOYMENT RATE WITH AN AVERAGE ENTERED EMPLOYMENT WAGE RATE OF 16.38, WHICH IS A 1.38 INCREASE FROM LAST PROGRAM YEAR. THE ALL FAMILY PARTICIPATION RATE WAS 3.6%, AND THE TWO PARENT PARTICIPATION RATE WAS 0.7%, BOTH EXPERIENCING SHARP DECREASES FROM LAST PROGRAM YEAR DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF EXEMPT REFUGEE PARTICIPANTS IN OUR REGION.
