“From January 1, 2019 - April 15, 2019, the Coalition entered into a contract with Paychex payroll processing under their Professional Employer Organization platform (PEO) program. The decision was made to enable the Coalition to offer better benefits to its employees, however, in actuality, the benefits offered were not availabe in the Florida Keys so due to the cost fo the program, the Coalition left the Paychex platform and became full time employees of the Coalition once again on April 16, 2019.”

Individual services are tailored to a familys needs and include care coordination, case management, and referrals and interconceptional care. Healthy Start serves as our overall assessment resource and referral system. Access to services begins with a prenatal screen completed at a womans first obstetrical doctors appointment. Infants are also screened at birth to identify possible factors that could impact a babys health or development in the first year of life. Last year we provided 16,802 services to 886 pregnant women and their families. |

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | Healthy Babies addresses the health and well-being of parents and babies during pregnancy and the first few months of life. Through subsidized prenatal medical care, supportive mental health services, transportation to vital medical appointments, and lactation support services we are able to ensure babies are born healthy to prepared parents. In 19-20, 14 women received a total of 109 obstetrical visits, including all labs/testing deemed necessary by their provider. There have been 12 healthy babies born (2 women are still pregnant). This program began 17 years ago and has positively impacted hundreds of lives. In 19-20, 16 parents received a total of 47 one-hour counseling sessions with our mental health professional. FKHSC provides transportation for pregnant women and infants to their necessary prenatal, postpartum, and infant wellness medical appointments. We are at full capacity five days a week, including trips to Miami for families in need of specialty care. |

We address vehicle and bike safety, safe sleep practices, water and pool safety, and home environment and poison safety. Our team of 22 trained technicians found 92% of the 168 car seats checked throughout Monroe County to be installed incorrectly and parents were unaware they were not following proper safety recommendations. Our program provided 185 reduced or no cost childrens car seats and more than 210 free child bicycle helmets. Since its inception in 2007, this program has changed the landscape of safety for families in the Keys. |

Due to COVID-19, the Coalition moved in-person groups to virtual platforms from mid-March through the end of June. We held 16 Say Hello classes, 9 Nurture Your Newborn classes, 3 Childbirth Education classes, 2 Breastfeeding Education classes, 11 Breastfeeding Support groups, and created 93 videos covering healthy snacks, storytime, crafts, indoor and outdoor movement, and family fun activities. These videos were viewed by over 920 parents and children. |

In partnership with local food pantries and distribution sites, FKHSC became the go-to agency for formula and baby food, providing nutritional support to over 82 families this year. |
