Activity 2

After completion of residential treatment services at chrysalis house, inc., the women continue their treatment while living in their own apartments. Women without childcare responsibilities are housed through the chrysalis house scattered site program, one-bedroom apartments in the local community with access to all continuing care services. Women with children are housed at serenity place apartments, 40 -2 and 3 bedroom apartments in an alcohol and drug free community adjacent to the chrysalis community center. While in independent living, the women and children avail themselves of the full array of services offered at chrysalis house including therapy, parenting skills, case management, and employment and housing support. Outpatient services for women residing in independent living facilities are provided at the chrysalis community center.women and their children remain in the independent living facilities for a minimum of one year.

Activity 3

Many supportive services and an outpatient program are provided at the chrysalis community center, a one story building with a walk-out basement erected in 2003. With 18,000 square feet of air-conditioned space, the building is constructed of steel and concrete with a brick exterior.child and family services are provided for the children and families of chrysalis house clients. A full-time child therapist and a full-time adolescent therapist provide developmental and mental health assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, play therapy, family therapy, and parenting skills workshops.the chrysalis child care program offers after school and summer child care to the children of clients at chrysalis house. The chrysalis child care program is licensed by the commonwealth of kentucky and has been awarded three stars by stars for kids now which recognizes child care agencies that exceed the standards required by the state. The child care center offers many educational and cultural opportunities to the high risk children it serves.chrysalis house education and employment program provides each chrysalis house client with employment and education opportunities including instruction for the general equivalency diploma (ged), job skills training, basic and advanced computer training and job placement assistance. The chrysalis community center also houses supportive housing opportunities for women (show) designed to address the future housing needs of chrysalis house clients and clients from similar agencies. The show housing director works with each family to prepare them for future housing and provides credit counseling, budgeting, and assistance with obtaining and maintaining housing following completion of substance abuse treatment.
