The conflict of interest policy is monitored annually by asking board members to sign a document stating they have no conflict of interest.

The board meets four times per year and reviews personnel, budget, program, schedules, staff, and other hr services. The board also reviews the financial functions of the ministry. All the employees including the executive director and key employees are missionaries and as such receive a smaller then average salary (stipend)and due to the program being residential care for children, all staff are required to live on campus. As such they receive housing and meal benefits. The wages reported on part vii, represent back pay/severance pay that these individuals worked for over a number of years but were not paid due the organization not having any cash. Once the organization sold its property, they were able to pay this out. The amounts paid represent a cumulative of back pay and severance pay for work done over several years. See note in schedule o regarding the organization dissolving.

Additional Explanations

Form 990

The organization is in the process of dissolving and the dissolution has been under the guidance of the office of tennessee attorney general. They sold their property, building and equipment in 2019. Funds were used to pay creditors as well as to pay back pay/severance pay to many of the employees who kept working but were not paid when the organization was struggling a few years back. The organization will continue to wind down over the next few years. Part 1x - line 7 - other salaries and wages is negative. This represents wages that had been accrued in prior years and was showing as a payable. However, to be able to show what was reported on the w-2 on part vii, a negative expense had to be entered here.
