Corporate compliance is responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient and effective program of internal auditing and monitoring to enhance our capacity to manage risk, investigate emerging issues and trends and detecting deviations from established internal controls. Corporate compliance is also involved with assisting the information systems department with lifelink cyber security strategies. Ethical and moral behavior is expected from all employees. “Message from the president/ceo lifelink is honored to carry out the decisions of all donors and donor families to give the gift of life; to provide comfort and support to donor families and facilitate lifesaving transplants to patients on the waiting list. We partnered with our teams of hospital staff and leaders, medical examiners, coroners, funeral homes, and transplant centers in pursuit of our shared goal of saving and improving lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation. Throughout the pandemic, lifelink adapted quickly, adopted new processes, and embraced innovation and opportunity to continue our lifesaving mission. We weathered the storm successfully and recently returned to in-person public interaction for both professional development and hospital development staff. Lifelink foundation facilitated 2,130 life-saving organ transplants and 148,000 life-enhancing tissue allografts, provided comfort and support to over 2,000 donor families and provided immunological testing for more than 3,600 patient evaluations. Also noteworthy, lifelink of georgia celebrated the first anniversary of the lifelink of georgia organ recovery center (orc) at piedmont atlanta hospital. The orc provides specialized care for donors, optimizing organ function and increasing their ability to donate life. It is also a place where donor families can feel comfortable while they say goodbye to their loved one outside of a traditional icu environment.
