Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The institute for intergovernmental research, inc., is generally exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Therefore, no provision for income taxes has been made in the accompanying financial statements. The organization files income tax returns in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction. The organization's income tax returns for the past three years are subject to examination by tax authorities and may change upon examination. The organization has reviewed and evaluated the relevant technical merits of each of their tax positions in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america for accounting for uncertainty in income taxes, and determined that there are no uncertain tax positions that would have a material impact on the financial statements.
