Elder day stay: seniors who could not be left alone due to physical or cognitive limitations were cared for during the day in a safe, home-like atmosphere. In addition to individualized supervision, elder day stay provides assistance with daily activities, medication management, exercise, nutritious meals and snacks, intellectually stimulating activities and socialization. In 2016, 77 seniors spent 56,684 hours at our facility. Information & referral services: when you call elder care services, you reach a caring, well-informed counselor who is committed to answering questions and responding to requests for help. In addition to providing the right phone number for a community resource, we also offer the following emergency or short-term help: emergency energy assistance - 217 seniors received emergency energy assistance (assistance with utility bills) averaging 227 per client through eheap (emergency home energy assistance program for the elderly), community human services program (chsp) funds and private donations. Emergency food pantry - stocks essentials through donations of items such as ensure and non-perishable foods. Adaptive medical equipment loan program - saves seniors the cost of purchasing items such as wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, adult briefs, canes and bedside commodes. More than 1,500 seniors received free material aid valued at over 70,000 such as ambulatory aids, adaptive medical equipment, incontinence supplies, blankets, heaters, fans, furniture, and groceries through elder care services, inc.'s emergency assistance program. Emergency alert response - provides security by connecting isolated seniors with emergency services through lifeline units placed in their homes. Additional meal services: in addition to producing our meals on wheels for clients, our kitchen produces and delivers nutritious hot meals and snacks to various day care centers and after school programs on a contract basis. This helps leverage the cost of our meals.
