FORM 990 PART III LINE 4A:

College of chiropractic the mission of the college of chiropractic is to educate, mentor and graduate contemporary and compassionate doctors of chiropractic, based on a model of vertebral subluxation. The college establishes an environment demonstrating the expression of university core values; to embody vitalism, nurture the standard to live an exceptional life of integrity and be of service to the world. Delivering chiropractic education amid a pandemic since the covid 19 pandemic began in march 2020, the college of chiropractic began delivering education in a variety of remote or hybrid formats. During this reporting cycle, the college of chiropractic had experienced three quarters of providing chiropractic education remotely. The basis of the chiropractic curriculum and model is on students learning hands-on skills to include examinations and techniques and demonstrating competencies in a real-world simulated environment. The college began researching a hybrid model to bring students back to campus while maintaining the requirements of the center for disease control (cdc) guidelines. As part of the university's initiative and commitment to supporting the needs of its learners and the changing higher education landscape, the chosen model is called life-flex. Life-flex is an innovative approach to course delivery that provides students with flexibility and multiple learning opportunities. In preparation for delivering this education model, faculty training, ordering supporting technology, upgraded classroom technology, and creation of student guidelines. In spring 2021, the college of chiropractic continued to keep lectures remote and return all hands-on skill labs to campus. Faculty have worked hard to maintain the integrity of the curriculum and teaching during the pandemic. In the academic support department, the academic support department reinforces remote laboratory content through in-person sessions with faculty and supplemental instruction. The clinic remained open for faculty clinicians to continue providing care to the community. When the students returned, an assessment of their skills and abilities and areas of weakness were identified that resulted from remote instruction. The clinic shared assessment information with didactics, which supported additional review sessions with faculty and peers. College of chiropractic faculty achievements: despite the change in environment, there were thriving and accomplishments among faculty. For example, the college had one faculty member receive the vulcan award. This award recognizes an outstanding faculty member who demonstrates strong academic skills in the classroom and provides leadership and support in the other areas of campus life.
