The College of Chiropractic The Mission of the Life University College of Chiropractic, centered on the Vertebral Subluxation Complex, is to educate, mentor and graduate skilled and compassionate Doctors of Chiropractic to be primary care clinicians, physicians, teachers, and professionals, using the Universitys core life proficiencies as their foundation. Program Activities Peer Mentoring Pilot Peer Mentoring was piloted during Spring 2016 in the PSYC 3505 8th quarter Human Development class and matched with a 1st quarter class. 86% of the 1st quarter and 94.4% of the 8th quarter classes reported feeling the mentoring interaction helped them feel more engaged in the classroom setting. 91.2% of the 8th quarter class reported that they perceived this would help their leadership skills. The majority of students reported that they believed that this type of program would help them better acclimate to the Chiropractic program. This initiative will continue in the curriculum in this class related to the goal of improving communication and leadership for students and increase engagement and connectedness with students starting 1st quarter. Curriculum Review and Revision The DCP Curriculum Committee was restructured to include a wider representation of the program. The chair and committee members have been charged with overseeing the curriculum review and revision process and work in conjunction with the consultant. Their role also includes coordinating the faculty workshops that have been created by the consultants as well as collecting the work that is required from the faculty to progress to the next level. A meeting is scheduled once a month with the DCP administrators and the chair of the curriculum committee to discuss success and challenges. The committee and DCP faculty have completed two of the six workshops that have been scheduled by the consultant to complete this project. Anatomage Lab Since the transition from a cadaver lab to a virtual dissection lab, a review was done to compare student performance of students who used cadavers, students who used anatomy models, and of students who used the virtual dissection tables along with anatomy models to prepare for lab examinations in the Musculoskeletal Gross Anatomy course. The scores were from nine consecutive academic calendar sessions over two years. Results revealed that students that used the virtual dissection tables along with anatomy models performed better on average than the students that used cadavers only. Faculty Achievements Full-time faculty member in the Anatomy department published a Gross Anatomy Dissection Lab Manual. Full-time faculty member in the Anatomy department participated in an ongoing research focused on the Suboccipital triangle; anomalies associated with the dorsal arch of the Atlas. Presented a poster during ACC-RAC and is in the process of publishing the results in the Journal of Chiropractic and Manual Therapies. FORM 990 PART III LINEs 4B, 4C & 4D

The College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies Deans Office Restructuring occurred within the deans office including the movement from area chairs to assistant deans as well as reassignment of program coordinators and faculty responsible for quality improvement reporting. Support staff positions were added to address student needs in the area of scheduling and advising, probationary and remedial monitoring and creation of associate dean administrative positon for CGUS. The office also reorganized the various departments to provide increased synergy among departments, moving Computer Information Management to the area of PHDSC to compliment the Business Administration program housed in that area. Emphasis on on-line education was increased during the past year with the hiring of the associate dean of on-line education as well as several adjunct faculty committed solely to on-line course offerings. Positive Human Development and Social Change (PHDSC) Academic activities during the year included on-campus presentations by positive psychologists, Dennis Tirch and Steven Hayes, as well as an ACT training workshop in the area of Psychology. An associates and bachelors degree in Positive Human Development and Social Change was implemented. The associate degree is being offered at the Lee Arrendale State Womens Prison and is the only accredited degree program currently offered to incarcerated students in the state of Georgia. Steps have been taken to convert curriculum in the undergraduate psychology degree in preparation for offering the degree in a completely on-line format. New full-time and part-time faculty have joined the department and a new assistant dean was hired. Nutrition The Nutrition department launched its new Bachelors in Culinary Nutrition degree which compliments the current undergrad offering in dietetics and nutrition. New full-time faculty was hired across program offerings and a new assistant dean was hired to lead the department in its new direction of functional nutrition. In conjunction with the new culinary nutrition program, a "community garden" was established and is supervised and managed by students within the nutrition department and food harvested from the garden is used in the Universitys Socrates Caf. Programmatic updates were provided to Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) the accrediting agency for nutrition programs. Natural Sciences New faculty were hired in the area of biology and department faculty focused on the creation of a new major in human ecology. Curriculum has been developed and is currently under consideration by the undergraduate curriculum committee with a projected start date for the program of January 2018. Faculty participated in the 2016 Atlanta Science Festival, showcasing various aspects of our program. Sport Health Science Continued improvements to program curriculum were the focus of faculty during the past year. Programmatic updates were provided to the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), the accrediting agency for the athletic training program. The department experienced increased enrollments in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Students participated in internships throughout the metro-Atlanta area, working with local youth and professional athletes. The department also hosted the 2016 Baseball and Sports Performance conference.

Schedule D, Part X, Line 2

The University is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code (the "Code"). Any unrelated business income, as defined by Section 512(a)(1) of the Code is subject to income taxes. U.S. generally accepted accounting principles require the Universitys management to evaluate tax positions taken by the University and recognize a tax liability if the University has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the Internal Revenue Service. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the University, and has concluded that as of June 30, 2016, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the financial statements. The University recognizes interest accrued related to unrecognized tax benefits in interest expense and penalties in other institutional expenses. There were no Interest or penalties recognized in either of the years ended June 30, 2016 or 2015. The Universitys federal Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax (Form 990) for the years ended June 30, 2016, 2015 and 2014 are subject to examination by the IRS.
