Vgsc is organized to foster improved business conditions for the tourism and convention industry in the upstate of sc with the vision of becoming one of the most visited travel destinations in the southeast.

The mission of visitgreenvillesc ("vgsc") is to maximize tourism by developing and promoting exceptional visitor experiences to elevate the quality of life and prosperity for our community.

“The bylaws provide for an executive committee of the board, consisting of the board chair, vice chair, treasurer, immediate past chair, and three at-large directors. The executive committee can transact business of an emergency or delegated nature and act on behalf of the board in the intervals between board meetings. The executive committee must report the substance of any such actions to the board at its next meeting. The executive committee has the authority to hire, determine the compensation of and dismiss the president of vgsc.”

“Vgsc made changes to its bylaws during the fiscal year including reducing the maximum number of voting members from 29 to 17; updating the duties of the treasurer to include the review of the form 990 prior to filing; removing references to membership that were outdated, including membership voting for board members; and the guidelines for what constitutes a quorum of the board was changed from one-third of the members to a majority of the directors of the board.”
