“The Jubilee House Community Inc operates as a working community, and as such, its directors, officers, and significant employees have always had family relationships with each other, as has been correctly noted in prior 990 Forms. The business relationships between individuals are limited to staff and Board relationships internal to the JHC, Inc., and do not include business relationships with any outside entities. First, Cofounders of the JHC Inc in 1979 and full time staff since then as volunteers with stipend, members of Board of Directors are Sarah Junkin Woodard chairperson, Michael E Woodard, Kathleen Murdock. Kathleen Murdock and Michael Woodard are married to each other. Next, Directors of the JHC Inc and full time staff since 1987 as volunteers with stipend, members of Board of Directors are Margo P Floerke vice chair and Katherine L Floerke treasurer, who are sisters. Next, Directors of the JHC, Inc., since 2007 and volunteers since 2001, Rebecca Mohally Renk secretary, full time staff volunteer with stipend, is married to Paul Mohally Renk. Next, Directors of the JHC, Inc. since 2008 and volunteers since 1985 are Nora L Laws, Rebecca Trowell, and Alex Francisco; parents and adult child. Next, Director of the JHC, Inc. since 2007 and volunteer since 2006, Michael C Murdock is the son of Kathleen Murdock and Michael Woodard. The same is true for Daniel Earl Murdock a Director since 2010 and volunteer since 2008, and for Joseph Philip Woodard Murdock, a Director since 2014 and volunteer. Next, Director of the JHC, Inc. since 2012 and volunteer since 2004 is Natalie Waxler Woodard; formerly Michael Waxler son in law of Sarah Junkin Woodard. Next, Directors Jim Brown, Joshua Fisher, and Cassie Iutzi are not related by family ties, but have both been long time volunteers. Finally, Claudia Saballos is a more recent volunteer.”

“In the Jubilee House Community, Inc. Constitution and By-Laws, Article III, Section I increased Board membership as follows: "... no less than five and no more than twenty members...". And five year terms were adjusted accordingly to say "... with three or four members elected annually."”

“Form 990 is completed by the chairperson and treasurer of the Board of Directors, using the JHC, Inc.;s financial data. Policy questions, governance questions, etc., with their answers are presented to the Board of Directors for review, discussion, and correction as needed at Board meetings. Each member of the Board is welcome to review in detail all information submitted in the 990 Form, provided electronically to each member before filing with the IRS. Earlier online 990 Forms are also available for public inspection.”

“All members of the Board of Directors, and staff, are required to disclose annually all matters that could give rise to conflicts of interest. Officers, directors, and employees, due to the community structure of the organization, are normally aware of any potential conflicts long before they might possibly become an issue. Concerned parties may speak to issues involved during duscussion, but defer to decisions made by those most involved, carried out in accordance with the adopted Conflict of Interest Policy as contained in the JHC, Inc. Board Policy Manual.”

“Top management officials of the JHC, Inc., work as full-time volunteers provided with a stipend and health insurance benefits. As this cash value falls far below any normal compensation levels for similar staff in other organizations, there ios no need to evaluate whether or not the compensation is excessive. The compensation level is in accordance with the Mission Statement of the JHC, Inc., and its ministry of service with the poor. Board members and officers serve as uncompensated volunteers.”

The public is advised of organizational information and its availability through the JHC Inc's annual report, sent to all major donors and any interested persons who request a copy. Musch of this information is also available through the online posting of information with Network for Good, now linked on the JHC website and updated periodically.”
