“Afcea educational foundation does not have employees. Afcea international provides staffing and other management services to the afcea educational foundation and is reimbursed for such services at cost.”

“The president of afcea will be the organization ("ef") president and serve as chairman of the ef. Additionally, the president appoints all directors to the board of directors. Lastly, the president is appointed by and can be removed by the chair of afcea subject to ratification by the afcea exec committee.”

“The form 990 was prepared by the independent auditors and reviewed by senior management. The board of directors delegated the review and approval of the form 990 to the afcea audit committee, an independent committee that reports to the board of directors. The delegation was done for efficiencies in operations and to ensure timely filing of the form 990.”

“Annually the board reviews and discusses the conflict of interest policy and members sign a conflict of interest statement. If there is a conflict the board member would be asked to resign and/or recuse themselves from any vote where the conflict would come into play.”

“The audited 9/30/23 financial statements have yet to be issued as of the filing of the 2022 form 990. This form 990 has been prepared using the best estimates available at the time, and if the final audited financial statements contain material differences an amended 2022 form 990 will be filed.”
