Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The partnership project is organized and operated exclusively to enhance protection of the natural environment by improving the effectiveness of environmental organizations. It currently has 16 groups participating, including the largest environmental advocacy groups in the country. By uniting their members and contributors on coordinated actions, the participating groups are creating a sum of citizen participation and advocacy greater than they could generate acting apart.

THE PARTNERSHIP HELPS THE COMMUNITY FOCUS ON THE SAME OBJECTIVE, WITH THE SAME STRATEGY, AT THE SAME TIME, USING SHARED RESOURCES TO ADVANCE THEIR COMMOM CAUSE. THE PARTNERSHIP WEBSITE, WWW.SAVEOURENVIRONMENT.ORG, AND IT E-ACTIVIST LIST OF APPROXIMATELY 435,000 NAMES IS USED BY THE ENTIRE ENVIRONMENTAL COMMUNITY TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THREATS TO THE ENVIRONMENT. THE PARTNERSHIP PROJECT WORKS IN CONCERT WITH THE ENVIRONMENTAL COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT THE HIGHEST PRIORITIES IN FIVE GENERAL AREAS. 1. MOBILIZE THE MEMBERS OF NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS AROUND COMMUNITY-WIDE ISSUES. 2. AMPLIFY AND ADD DISCIPLINE TO THE COMMUNITY'S MESSAGE AND GENERATE MEDIA COVERAGE ON COMMUNITY PRIORITIES. 3. RECRUIT NEW E-ACTIVISTS FOR THE MOVEMENT. 4. MANAGE THE ONLY COMMUNITY-WIDE WEBSITE THAT PROVIDES ADVOCACY SERVICES FOR EVERY MAJOR ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP. 5. DEPLOY ORGANIZERS TO EDUCATE AND ACTIVATE THE GRASSROOTS IN STATES AND MEDIA MARKETS WHERE IT MATTERS MOST. THE PARTNERSHIP HAS FOUR PRIMARY, INTERRELATED GOALS. 1. BUILD NATIONWIDE SUPPORT FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE NATIONAL AND STATE POLICIES ON CLEAN ENERGY AND THE REDUCTION OF GLOBAL WARMING POLLUTION. 2. DEVELOP THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND PROCESSES TO SOLIDIFY THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NATIONAL AND STATE ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS SO THAT MEMBERS OF THE 80TH NATIONAL AND STATE GROUPS TAKE ACTION ON ISSUES OF MUTUAL CONCERN. 3. TARGET OPPORTUNITIES AND BUILD SUPPORT FOR MAKING POSITIVE CHANGES IN ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES, SAFEGUARD KEY LAWS AND PRIORITY PLACES THROUGH HIGHLY FOCUSED DEFENSE CAMPAIGNS. 4. INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE PARTNERSHIP ACTIVIST LISTS AND CAPTURE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR MEMBERS TO MORE EFFECTIVELY MOBILIZE THEM. PROVIDE GROUPS WITH WEB ACCESS TO THEIR LISTS. PARTNERSHIP SENT 43 ALERTS TO OUR SAVEOURENVIRONMENT.ORG E-ACTIVIST LIST OF 422,000 WHICH GENERATED 485,123 EMAILS AND FAXES TO DECISION MAKERS AND CORPORATE TARGETS. 2.ORGANIZERS IN 11 STATES WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GENERATION OF EARNED MEDIA, RECRUITMENT OF NON-ENVIRONMENTAL COALITION PARTNERS, AND IDENTIFICATION AND ACTIVATION OF PROMINENT INFLUENCERS AND GRASSROOTS ADVOCATES.
