Citydance fulfills this mission through the following: citydance presents brings acclaimed companies to the regions most prestigious performance venues and through its ignite program supports rising choreographic stars to create, produce, and perform their own work. The citydance school & conservatory, with a goal to prepare youth for professional dance careers, provides superlative dance training in ballet, contemporary and world dance forms taught by world-renowned faculty. The program includes personalized coaching; guest artist residencies; master classes; summer intensives in partnership with professional companies and artists; and professional performance opportunities. Citydance pop! Dance & fitness studio in tenleytown, d.c. Provides dance classes in a relaxed and fast-paced fun environment for ages 18 months to adult, ranging from pre-ballet to zumba. Citydance dream is our award-winning program that seeks to level the playing field for students living in high-poverty d.c. Neighborhoods by providing access to the highest-quality dance training; supports and services to ensure achievement in school; and the resources needed for successful transitions to adulthood. These goals are achieved through the dream center for dance, located in the heart of d.c.s u street neighborhood, providing a comprehensive tuition-free dance program integrated with wrap-around academic, college readiness, and family services for grades 3-12; and dream connections, providing free after-school dance classes and in-school performances at eleven d.c. Public and charter schools for grades 3-5. Dream is the recipient of the 2015 presidents committee on the arts and the humanities national arts and humanities youth program award and the 2010 d.c. In february 2018, conservatory dancer isabelle zombron won the gold medal for the contemporary category in her age division at the european ballet grand prix, as well as the fanny elssler prize, named for the famed austrian ballerina of the romantic period. Isabelle was also invited to perform in the competitions culminating gala. Dream students were invited to perform at the kennedy center for national dance day (july 2018) alongside students from other dance training programs. The 2017-18 graduating class immediately enrolled in the following universities: spelman college, university of north carolina at greensboro and delaware state university. Form 990, part iii, line 4c, third accomplishment (continued):priore toured work to cuba for the grand prix malakhov dance festival (september 2017). Ewing produced two evening length works in d.c. (september 2017 and april 2018) as well as multiple site-specific performances through the season. Both artists have secured funding and resources to present their 2018/19 performance seasons in d.c. And will continue to serve as ignite artists.”
