Considering the activities of its representative office significant,irs informed cii to file form 990 even though the receipts are less than $50,000. Cii complied the request by filing form 990 for the fiscal year ending march 31st,2010 thru march 31st, 2015 reporting amounts of cii usa office on cash basis as advised by revenue officer examining the cii filings. Irs accepted the aforementioned filing on form 990 as filed with an addendum that the future filings should include the amounts for memberships and foreign contributions which happen to be outside usa.the reporting of worldwide numbers of membership dues and foreign contributions required cii to report all amounts of revenue and expenditure on accrual basis to comply with the addendum and form 990 instructions.the same has been reflected on this form 990.all of cii's operation and most of its assets are located in india. The presence of cii out of india is in the form of representative offices for administrative liaison purposes to coordinate its activities.the amounts reflected on form 990 are converted,using exchange rate of inr 85.417 equal to 1 usd for balance sheet items and inr 84.5591 equal to 1 usd revenue and expenses, from cii's audited financial statements prepared on indian gaap basis and audited by independent accountant in india.”
