Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

PART XII, LINE 2C:

The executive committee, consisting of the board officers, maintains oversight of the audit, review and selection of an independent accountant. The board treasurer is the primary board director overseeing the committee. The executive committee assumes the role of finance committee with the board treasurer as the chair. In conjunction with the managing director, the committee reviewed a list of auditors and approved for solicitation of the rfp. The treasurer then worked with the managing director to draft the rfp and send to the committee for review. Once approved, the board treasurer sent out the letters of solicitation. Proposals were reviewed by the committee and recommendation was given to the full board for a vote.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The association follows the authoritative guidance relating to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes included in accounting standards codification topic 740-10, income taxes. These provisions provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entitys financial statements and prescribe a threshold of more likely than not for recognition and derecognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The association performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions for the year ended december 31, 2017 and determined that there were no matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or that may have any effect on its tax-exempt status. At december 31, 2017, the statute of limitations for tax years ended december 31, 2014 through december 31, 2016 remains open with the u.s. Federal jurisdiction or various states and local jurisdictions in which the association files tax returns. It is the associations policy to recognize interest and/or penalties related to uncertain tax positions, if any, in income tax expenses.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0THE ASSOCIATION FOLLOWS THE AUTHORITATIVE GUIDANCE RELATING TO ACCOUNTING FOR UNCERTAINTY IN INCOME TAXES INCLUDED IN ACCOUNTING STANDARDS CODIFICATION TOPIC 740-10, INCOME TAXES.
